Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

no actually I am sitting here READING a draft book right now and it says shortest arms poor poor agility, has the highest chance of failure among all centers in this draft
Is the draft book written by Todd McShay?
Also, my only question about this is who would trade up from the end of the 1st round to give us their 1st & 2nd round picks?

someone would, might happen dont bash me cause this is what I want to happen. I have watched the last 3 drafts and I have seen weirder things happen. this is the nfl stuff like that happens I seen a team give up all 7 of there draft picks for a running back so dont tell me a team wouldnt think about giving there second to move up in the first round, plus with how much mcdaniels likes huchstien and olsen and how comfortable he says he is I wouldnt be suprised we dont jump on a center until the later rounds

I'm not going to get on your case or anything, but a lot of those draft publications don't know the first thing about drafting players in the NFL. If they did, then they wouldn't be writing in draft publications. Think about that. :thumb:

I am just saying there is doubts against walton and mcdaniels I think feels comfortable with the guys he has on the roster to play center, I want to see olsen at center and us drat lupati thats one big step to getting us bigger and stronger up front

Okay, just throw this draft book in the trash because it fails to get a simple arm lenght information right. Or use it as toilet paper if necessary.

Most of (if not all of) the draft magazines were printed before the Senior Bowl or Combine. As mentioned above Walton's arms are longer than all but one other center prospect in the draft. I don't get why you think he "has the highest chance of failure among all centers", I haven't read or seen anything that would make me think that.
I think Walton is one of only two centers (the other being Pouncey) that could play at a high level from day one.
Back to the OP...
I love Cam Thomas, but I think he will go in the 2nd round. There is a very good chance some team will over draft him based on potential and the lack of true NT's in this year's class.
I would be very happy if we got him though, even if it means reaching (slightly) for him.

I'm not arguing any of your points. As a matter of fact, I at least half-way agree. If we could trade down and get Iupati, or 2 or 3 other players I'd like, I would love that move. But, there's a part of me that thinks that you should switch Jordan Shipley and Cam Thomas around, and maybe take someone else other than Gerhart. I'd go OL or DL instead. But I'm one of those guys who think it all starts up front, and that you can never have too much depth or talent up front.
Think of Shanny. The guy made a living out of not drafting first round backs, and they did pretty well because the offensive line was great. Once the O-line went downhill, then the mid-round picks didn't do as well. That's not a coincidence.

I just dont think we need cam thomas that bad we got williams, fields, bannan and baker can all play the nose so why draft another that you dont really need when you can get a great possesion reciever like shipley and probably the best power runner in this draft like gerhart

you do know that kuper and harris were mid round picks right?

You do know that neither player started a game until their second year in the NFL?
We do not have the luxury of letting a center sit and learn behind a vet for a year. We have absolutely no starting caliber center on our roster and we need someone who can start from day one.
Pouncey, Walton, and maybe Tennant are the only players that could do that (although I think Tennant would suffer the most growing pains out of the three).
