I personally can care less about Quinn unless he plays well from week 1-5 if we started him. If not I say start from scratch and throw in Brandstater who should of been starting last season over Chris Simms.

Oh agreed personally I want Brandstater as our QB of the future he has a much better arm. What I like about McD is he chose intelligent QB's I think Brandstater has everything a QB needs but he needed technique improvement

I think when its all said in done Brandstater will be our QB. McD has yet to fail turning a late round QB into a star QB. I know he had help Weis's help developing Tom Brady but what he did with Cassel was spectacular. I think Brandstater will turn out just like that. He defintley has the height and weight. And those are 2 things McD always like in his QB.

favre's last year the pack goes 13-3 and is in the nfc championship game . then the next year they go 6-10 and miss the playoffs all together while favre had the jets playoff bound before getting hurt. keep in mind only one starter from the offense and one from the defense changed from 07 to 08. then favre goes to minnesota beats the packers twice, costing the packers the division and any real shot in the playoffs. all while the vikes (there biggest rivals) go to the nfc championship game and get screwed by the reffs and dirty play of the saints, or they would ve been in the superbowl. and if he comes back this year he'll do it again to the pack. not to mention they could ve used that first round pick on the bpa at the time which happens to be roddy white


the san diego situation is not the same at all. they were nt drafting to replace an older guy but that didnt work out either. saints are champions and the chargers are chumpions. if they keep brees and use that high pick on someone that could help them they are in a better situation than now.

Clausen wont be available at 11. i personally think the bills will get him. but if he does come to 11 tho, i can see a team like arizona try to trade up for him. if we do trade down, i would hope the vikings trade up for him. minnesota has pick 30. do u know how much we can get from the vikings for our pick?

brees got very hurt in the final game of the 05 season (thanks to us lol) his injury was career threatening so the chargers cut him. (plus they had just drafted a QB in 2004. philip rivers) luckily, brees's career didnt end then the saints went out and signed him.

I don't know about you but i'm not interested in seeing Quinn play. I think McD should of started Brandstater when Orton went down last season so we could of seen his playing ability. logically the top 5 teams wont take Clausen. Rams will take Bradford, Lions wont take a QB, Bucs wont take QB, Redskins with McNabb they probably wont take him either but like I said its possible. I dont think KC will take him, Seattle has WhiteHurst so he wont be going there, That leaves Cleveland and from what I heard Holmgren doesn't want Clausen but again you never know. Oakland defintley wont get Clausen but with Al Davis you can never predict his drafting. That leaves Buffalo and in the end this is where I think he will likely end up. If Buffalo passes him up Jacksonville defintley wont be getting him they already have David Gerrard. So that leaves Denver at #11. Taking this all into account it is possible for him to fall. But i kinda doubt but still possible.

orton was back for week 1. im not sold on brandstater. he looked good in preseason, but so did chris simms. and we all know how horrible simms did in regular season. buffalo wont pass him up. their QB situation is horrible. they keep rotating between trent edwards and fitzpatrick.

Wait a minute. We are talkin about drafting a QB to slowly groom to replace another QB.

Every general manager out there has said that the packers handled it perfectly. Aaron Rodgers has grown to be a probowl QB for the packs and will be for the next 10 years. (whatever Favre decided to do with the rest of his career is besides the point. The packers as a team are set at QB for the next 10 yrs)

As for Rivers and the Chargers, the reasons were differant but the methods were the same. The chargers draft a qb with a serviceable one on staff. They let him learn for 3 yrs then plug him in.

Its the same for the Eagles this year, and if Kolb plays like he has then this method has worked AGAIN.


Denver KIND OF tried this with Elway/Brister/Griese. What they should have done was take a QB in 97's draft and let hime learn from the GOAT for 2-3 years. Instead we short changed the process and are still paying for it.

Shanahan has seen this, and it would not surprise me if they did take Clausen and let him sit for 2-3 years.

On the other hand he just might take a LT that he desperatly needs

It doesn't move him into the top 5, but now is definitely the target for Buffalo. The new regime isn't going to stick with an average Trent Edwards. Let's just hope Clausen is not another JP Losman.

They'll promptly look for a tackle in the 2nd.

Unless Clausen ends up like Quinn plummeting in the draft I doubt he will be available to us. We havent shown interest in him probably for this purpose that or McD is settled with his 3 QB's

I can almost guarntee he wont make it past Buffalo
