  • Safety anyone?

Does anyone think that we will draft a safety within the first 2 rounds? I don't think it's a bad idea depending on who we could pick up and where. Does anyone really think that Bruton, Mcbath or Barrett will be ready to step in when Dawkins leaves soon? What about moving Champ back there? I would be interested to see how that would work out.

McBath defintley, some say Bruton will be better off at ST but I still want to see him play. If we draft a safety I want it to be Earl Thomas out of Texas. He can play corner and safety and he and McBath can be our future safeties. Barrett i'm not so sure about. No way Champ is moving at safety. Not a chance..And if we really wanted to replace Dawkins we would get Taylor Mays hes another hard hitting big safety who could replace him. But hes a reach at #11 unless we get another 1st round a #20 pick or something.

I am a firm believer that safety is the position we least need an upgrade at. McBath did well when he stepped in and Bruton was a beast on special teams and did well when spelling starters. Heck, they might be ready to start THIS season.

I think McBath will start over Hill this year. He played great this year in a limited role, and he really broke out in the Colts game.

Bruton also had a great game when he started in the Raiders game. I think they're both NFL caliber safeties and I wouldn't be uncomfortable if either of them had to start.

Dawkins said he was impressed with McBath last year and until he was injured some were saying he was one of the best defensive rookies.

Wait a year if it presents a need we can go after DeAndre McDaniel next year

            McBath seems promising.

Bruton is a ST stud and thats what i believe is his role.

I wouldnt be supprised if coach McDaniels takes a hard long look at Earl Thomas if hes there at 11 the value might just be too good to pass up.

actual I think mcbath will take hills job this season and bruton didnt look to bad when he started but I would like to see barrett start when dawkins retires
A healthy Kenneth Dixon is a top 5 NFL RB.

except we dont need a safety so he wont draft a safety. we will draft pouncey or lupati 1 of these 2 cause they both fit our scheme and they are what we need

I wouldn't mind Earl Thomas at #11 but the pick McD is most likely to make IMO is Rolando McClain, Sean Weatherspoon, Jared Odrick, Iupati, and Pouncey. Those are the only guys I could see him choosing at #11 and those are the only guys I would be happy with at #11. But like I said I wont be mad if he chose Thomas at #11. A lot of people think he and Eric Berry have Ed Reed potential and thats saying a whole lot for a safety.

Everyone keeps saying we need a left guard but Olsen can play left guard he was young last year hes ready now. He is a great power Guard he knows the system I think we need to give him a chance heck look how bad ND line was without him.

Joe Hawley did a great job at Nevada and he is going to be a FA I say we fill our last O-line spot as a backup C/G with him. He is one of the best run blockers in the draft granted he has trouble with blitzes sometimes and thats why he is a FA (blitzes rarely come up the middle anyway) but he is still a solid backup

                      well.

None of us know what McDaniels big board looks like.

                      Mike Mayock said it best.

Sit there and let the board come to you.

you want to just give the LG spot away, I would rather draft a much more talented guy in lupati, trade marshall away and draft pouncey and have a late round gaurd be the backup. not all late round offensive lineman pan out like kuper did

Well will see what McD thinks of Olsen I think Olsen looks like a player who can be a good Guard but your right it wouldnt be bad t get a new LG. Still I think Hawley is underrated as potential UFA he can easily compete for a guard spot. I watch UNLV play he was a beautiful run blocker

crash I agree with you which is why I am saying we wait a year and if we have a need there is an amazing safety in next years draft
