  • Intro and Mock Draft

This year, I thought the Broncos did a great job in FA, getting starting quality players at all 3 defensive line spots. We also resigned all our RFAs which were some of the most important players on the team. We also got some depth at CB. We have few holes to fill, but they are big holes. On offense we are basically set at QB, WR, RB, T, G (1 more needed) and on defense were set at DE, NT, CB, S and OLB. The two big holes we have to fill are Center and ILB. Center is the biggest whole we have, however this draft is deep at that spot we can go either BPA or ILB in the first round and take a Center in the second or third round. Another position that we absolutely must fill, although it is not as important as the other two is FB. Spencer Larsen is definitely not a starting FB and hopefully we can find the next Peyton Hillis in the draft.

    Mock Draft:

    1. Rolando Mcclain- Unquestionably the best LB in the draft and fills a big need. I don't really think I need to explain what this guy can do for us, we all should know already.

    2. Matt Tennant or JD Walton- Both fill the biggest need we have at Center and they can both come in and start from day one. (Some people like Tennant and others like Walton, so either would be good).

    3. Toby Gerhart- Great value pick here, gives us our starting FB and the guy who can punch it in for us. We really need him and I would love it if we got him.

4 and 5 Rounds-We need depth at both G and DE and we should get those players in these rounds. I honestly don't know who they might be because I don't know any players that are projected to go in these rounds.

6 and 7 Rounds- We need a Punter to come and compete with Britton Colquitt and we could possibly get one. The other pick could be LaGarrett Blount or maybe a Rush Linebacker who we could develop.

I don't know if most values are correct here, so please correct me if I am wrong.

Hey I like your mock! Personally I'm not a huge fan of McClain, but other than that solid mock :salute!:

No way will McD draft La"Ghetto" Blount even in the 7th. If we pass up Toby in the 2nd he will be gone before our turn is up in the 3rd. I say in the 2nd we go WR in draft Damian Williams, Thomas, or Gilyard. Other than that I like it overall. Cant argue with McClain at #11 that would be my pick. As long as its not Dez Bryant then im all good.

I really don't like the idea of drafting McClain... We need a 2 down player to stop the run. Drafting McClain to do that would be a waste, and sliding DJ over there would be a waste.

And I know Gerhart is a good player, but I don't think we need that. Moreno is already a pretty good in between the tackles guy. We need somebody who an light the defense on fire and take it to the house whenever he touches it IMO. If you want a short yardage RB/FB go get Charles Scott in the 5th-6th round range.

Good thoughts though. I definitely like an OC in the 2nd.

Same here not a fan of drafting McClain also Punters are rarely draft worthy use a late rounder on someone like Armanti Edwards

Mesko in the 6th or 7th would be good pick for a punter.

Instead of McClain what do you think of Jared Odrick if hes at #11?

I'd be really happy with Odrick. I think he'd start as a rookie opposite of Bannan and let Jarvis Green do what he does best which is come in on passing situations and get after the QB.

mcdaniels doesnt like smaller running backs. look at the 3 we had on the roster last year all 3 are above 220 and we cut lamont jordan so we have a hole for a short yardage back and gerhart is one of the best HB in this draft and he is being straight overlooked cause the guys is white
A healthy Kenneth Dixon is a top 5 NFL RB.

Personally, the way he tackles is like he's a wrestler or something. I've never seen a solid NFL style tackle from him, I'll have to watch more tape (YouTube videos ) on him, but I'm just not a huge fan of him. His work ethic and heart are great, but his play leaves a bit to be desired for me :salute!:

I like mcclain, I just dont think it is a position of need with haggan moving inside I think he could be a real force with jamal williams in front of him and DJ next to him. backers can play for a while and haggan might as well be 27-28 cause he has never started in his career until last year so he hasnt taken much of a pounding he could be good for another 5-6 years

"could" is the keyword. Thats why I though it was safe going with McClain if anything but I also like Jared Odrick he can kill at end.

he's not being overlooked because he's white. He's being overlooked because the man looks like a pillar when he runs. I have a total man-crush on him, but I'm not entirely sure how his career will pan out if he doesn't fix his running style and keep his pads low.

The main reason I want us to draft him is because he looks like he could turn into the perfect 3rd down/goalline back. 3rd & 3? Stick him in there, he's got soft hands, so he can catch, or he might plow through the line. He'd be completely misguiding to the defense.
