First round:
St. Louis Rams:
Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska:
Yes, I know, QB blah blah. Now, you have a qb, who is he going to throw to? Who is going to protect him, what defense is going to keep him off the field? Suh is the most dominant dt I have ever seen, roll with him.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Detroit Lions:
Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma State:
See my above argument. The Lions defense has been getting better, yes some might argue Mccoy is the better player, and I would agree, but you invested your whole franchise on one player, you better protect him.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Tampa Bay Buccaneers:
Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma:
He is the most dominant pass rushing DT to come out since Warren Sapp, how fitting....no way they pass up McCoy.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Washington Redskins:
Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma:
You got your qb of the immediate future, you better protect him, and you have to guide the way for three over aged running backs, I personally think Trent is the best OT in the draft, and he fits the mold of a Ryan Clady. I could see them trade down however.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Kansas City Chiefs:
Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame:
I don't really agree with the pick myself, but I totally see the Chiefs moving in that direction, I do not think they are to impressed with Cassel, and it's not like they gave up much to get him. Charlie Wyche will HEAVILY influnce this pick. Better options are here obviously.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Seattle Seahawks:
C.J. Spiller, RB, Clemson:
Probably a little early for the kid, but Seattle needs explosiveness. They are probably looking at Chris Johnson before picking CJ, and can you blame them? Good pick, just a little early.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Cleveland Browns:
Eric Berry, S, Tennessee:
The fact that he is still here is a God send, yes they should target Bradford, but Holmgren seems darn stubborn about not taking a qb in he first round. Berry is easily a top 3 player in the draft, and the browns need a play maker on defense, Berry fits the mold and is a very safe pick.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oakland Raiders:
Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland:
Oh look another team that should not pass up Bradford but will. I cannot say much about Campbell from a player aspect, but I guess he is a good olympic wrestler, and we all know Al Davis is looking to build his own country and field an awesome Olympic team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Buffalo Bills:
Bryan Bulaga, OT, Iowa:
Yes, once again, Bradford is a viable option, however I think they are holding out hope for one of the three qbs and maybe an offensive line will help them suck less, who knows. Though Bryan is more of a run first tackle, which either way, will help Fred Jackson do his thing. I also like Dan Williams a lot here.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Jacksonville Jaguars:
Jason Pierre-Paul, DE/OLB, South Florida:
Though you have no idea how much I see a trade down, they will take Pierre Paul in this mock since I am to lazy to post trades. Pierre Paul has unlimited upside, and the Jaguars can risk it seeing as both DE on their roster can play just as well, though Pierre Paul could step in from day 1, or take a year to be tutored.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Denver Broncos:
Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma:
How can you not take him if he is there? Yes you have Brady Quinn and Orton, but if Bradford, the best qb talent in a while is just sitting there can you afford to pass him up? His accuracy is incredible, his football iq unmatched, everything about this qb is God like. You do not let him slip farther. Maybe you trade Orton, let Bradford sit for a bit, or start him day 1, either way it should work out.
