  • A Panther fan's mock.

    First round:
    St. Louis Rams:
    Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska:
Yes, I know, QB blah blah. Now, you have a qb, who is he going to throw to? Who is going to protect him, what defense is going to keep him off the field? Suh is the most dominant dt I have ever seen, roll with him.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    Detroit Lions:
    Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma State:
See my above argument. The Lions defense has been getting better, yes some might argue Mccoy is the better player, and I would agree, but you invested your whole franchise on one player, you better protect him.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    Tampa Bay Buccaneers:
    Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma:
He is the most dominant pass rushing DT to come out since Warren Sapp, how fitting....no way they pass up McCoy.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    Washington Redskins:
    Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma:
You got your qb of the immediate future, you better protect him, and you have to guide the way for three over aged running backs, I personally think Trent is the best OT in the draft, and he fits the mold of a Ryan Clady. I could see them trade down however.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------
    Kansas City Chiefs:
    Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame:
I don't really agree with the pick myself, but I totally see the Chiefs moving in that direction, I do not think they are to impressed with Cassel, and it's not like they gave up much to get him. Charlie Wyche will HEAVILY influnce this pick. Better options are here obviously.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------
    Seattle Seahawks:
    C.J. Spiller, RB, Clemson:
Probably a little early for the kid, but Seattle needs explosiveness. They are probably looking at Chris Johnson before picking CJ, and can you blame them? Good pick, just a little early.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
    Cleveland Browns:
    Eric Berry, S, Tennessee:
The fact that he is still here is a God send, yes they should target Bradford, but Holmgren seems darn stubborn about not taking a qb in he first round. Berry is easily a top 3 player in the draft, and the browns need a play maker on defense, Berry fits the mold and is a very safe pick.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
    Oakland Raiders:
    Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland:
Oh look another team that should not pass up Bradford but will. I cannot say much about Campbell from a player aspect, but I guess he is a good olympic wrestler, and we all know Al Davis is looking to build his own country and field an awesome Olympic team.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
    Buffalo Bills:
    Bryan Bulaga, OT, Iowa:
Yes, once again, Bradford is a viable option, however I think they are holding out hope for one of the three qbs and maybe an offensive line will help them suck less, who knows. Though Bryan is more of a run first tackle, which either way, will help Fred Jackson do his thing. I also like Dan Williams a lot here.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
    Jacksonville Jaguars:
    Jason Pierre-Paul, DE/OLB, South Florida:
Though you have no idea how much I see a trade down, they will take Pierre Paul in this mock since I am to lazy to post trades. Pierre Paul has unlimited upside, and the Jaguars can risk it seeing as both DE on their roster can play just as well, though Pierre Paul could step in from day 1, or take a year to be tutored.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    Denver Broncos:
    Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma:
How can you not take him if he is there? Yes you have Brady Quinn and Orton, but if Bradford, the best qb talent in a while is just sitting there can you afford to pass him up? His accuracy is incredible, his football iq unmatched, everything about this qb is God like. You do not let him slip farther. Maybe you trade Orton, let Bradford sit for a bit, or start him day 1, either way it should work out.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Ill finish tomorrow.

i really cant see teams like the bills, raiders, browns, and even chiefs and maybe even the jags passing up bradford if st. louis doesn't take him. Most of those teams have uncertainty at the qb position and if the consensus best QB in the draft is still sitting there, one of those teams is guna take him no doubt.

not to mention that if he falls to the Jags, they're going to use him to get a monster deal for that pick. The Cards and Vikings would go bonkers to actually have a shot at him.

yeah, I also have to echo the I think thats pretty far off. Also, 4 OTs in the top 10? sure its being predicted, sure the talent is there, sure the need is there, but this is the same as every year... and it never happens.

              Good pick.

              The Browns should target Bradford?

No they shouldn't. The Browns should target Eric Berry or Earl Thomas.

Browns don't need to draft a stinking QB - especially not this year.
The Browns are gone; I'm not a fan of the Impostors

The real Browns are in Baltimore, see?

I can very much see the Browns passing on Bradford.

                This QB class sucks.

I don't see this QB class sucking as much as the Brownies current QB situation ... Jake Interceptalohme and Senecca Wallace ... really!

really? how far are the browns going to go this year with delhomme or wallace taking the snaps? I would say wallace is the better quarterback out of those two and i think is a little underrated....but the money they are paying delhomme (7million!!) means he is going to be the starter. I don't mind Holmgren but I think he has raised more eyebrows than created confidence that he is improving the browns so far.

They really need a promising young quarterback in there to learn the system and give the fans some hope that they are going to be contenders in the near future. Even Colt Mccoy in the 2nd....just get somebody young in there

I agree that berry is a special player but when a team has as many holes to fill as the browns do, I find that taking a safety that high in the draft might be a mistake. You are not only committing a lot of money for a safety, but safeties often get injured because of the nature of the position and history shows that safeties taken high in the draft hardly ever pan out. I'm just a firm believer of shoring up other positions on a team before you start worrying about who is playing safety.

But I do hope Berry is as good as people say he is going to be. With delhomme under center, I see Berry being on the field A LOT. Let's see how good he is and if he can be a gamebreaker without a pass rush. If he can, than that's amazing.

It doesn't matter where they are going with Delhomme taking snaps. Because if the Browns did draft a QB they would be a clipboard on the sideline - that is it. No immediate impact if any impact at all!!

Wallace is overrated if anything. Everyone is making a big deal out of his signing. He's too small to be a legitimate QB in the NFL and has been nothing more than a glorified backup his entire NFL career. Also, he set up the QB situation the way it is to quell any thought whatsoever of a QB controversey. Delhomme is the starter period and he will start the season barring injury.

The Browns don't need a young QB because having a young QB does not show promise. The only thing is shows is that the team is perfectly willing to draft a QB and pay him millions to be a clipboard on the sideline. That's all they will be and that's all they'll ever be. Just look at Quinn. He sat on the sideline for years. Then when he finally got his chance to start he showed what little he had done on the sideline holding a clipboard. The Browns want to send the message that they are contenders? Draft defense because without a defense you won't go anywhere - especially in the AFC North.

The Browns have very few holes. The Browns need a FS, an SS, an OG, an OT, a pass rushing OLB (unless Gocong steps up), and to get younger at DE within the next few years. The Browns have absolutely nobody of worth at the safety position. That is why the Browns need to draft some big name starters there and team them up in the backfield with Wright and Brown.
