Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

...could we take Bulaga if he falls due to his versitality and uncertainty about Ryan Harris' long term future with the team but he could also play LG right?

I think, dont quote me on this though , Bulaga is more of a ZBS type of player. That was what they ran at Iowa. He doesn't quite fit the Power Mold Josh is looking for.

I really don't know they could implement the ZBS but my guess is as good as yours.
Well the deal is we're trying to get away from ZBS.
However, if we had to take an OT at #11, one that would be willing to play guard (not Trent Williams) would be ideal.
I was just thinking that it is obvious that McDaniels loves versatility and if he slides I think McDaniels would at the very least think hard about drafting him because of all the things he can do by the way I think he would be more than strong enough to transition to the PBS the way Kuper and Clady did.

why is ryan harris's future with the team uncertain??? so whhat he was hurt last year, alought of players were hurt last year it happens thats why girls dont play the game. and I gaurantee he is going to be with this team along time, he is one of if not the best right tackle in the league

actually we havnt transitioned to the PBS yet so we dont know how our players are going tohandle it, yes we did run some of it last year....key word is SOME power blocking but mcdaniels says so himself he tried to sta with ZBS as much as possible and incorperate some PBS. I think clady will do just fine kuper ehh I dont know he is a little undersized for the system
Why is everyone down on Seth Olsen he did a great job in college. I am not saying he is better then Iupati but I am not saying I am giving up on him. We need a Center more then we need a guard but I guess everyone must want Fry to be our new starting Center even though he played for the rams for 4 games 3 years ago and hasnt played since. This would be his 4th team in 3 years yeah I dont think he is going to pan out
We need a backup Center and a starting Center more then a guard and more then a RB and unless you think the person who captains the line that protects the QB is not important then I guess we dont need a QB either. Good luck getting the ball to that amazing WR lets ask the LIONS how that works. The O-line matters more then any other positions in the entire offense you can have the best QB it means nothing without an O-line and the same goes for RB. Normally Ild say this a great pick but until we get our Center fixed then we can worry about everything else. Making a team from the QB down does not work see recent history for evidence you need an O-line before you can get a QB which is why Parcells has been successful as a coach he knew this Shanny knew this all good coaches know this. It is essential.
I can understand from the stand point that next years guards are not better then Iupati but I cannot honestly say I am willing to give up on Olsen just yet.

Because he's had a back injury and now he has a toe/foot injury. Personally, i'm not sure if he can hold up in a PBS. I think physically, he would be better in a ZBS. ZBS doesn't require the physical demand that the PBS does, and IMO, if he wants to extend his career, he needs to be in a ZBS.

i love the trenches which is why my #2 pick at 11 would be Odrick for RDE. Dez Bryant is still my top choice.
Its not like our line is terrible. Clady and Harris are good at the tackle spots.
Olsen cost a 4th last year and McD seems high on him for LG, Iowa seems to produce some good lineman.
Kuper was tendered with a FIRST, I read a report that if we tendered him with a 2nd he would be gone. So Josh likes him at RG in this system, he will play and it seems like the rest of the league probably rate him as well, he is big enough and good enough in any system IMO.
I agree we need a C and I don't want Pouncey at 11, lets just take JD at 45

Iupati has a real nasty streak in him and he is really competative. He does not like to lose. He seems to be a very hardworker and a team kind of guy.
Having grown up with allot of somoans I can tell you this is pretty standard for them.
Personally I have always wanted a Somoan OL/LB/S and would love to see us pick this guy at 11.
Iupati is very good, I think 11 is still too high for him same with Pouncey. Bulaga is a ZBS scheme guy, but I think he could adapt. I think someone will take him before us anyway. We do need another G but maybe not at 11. Now if we trade back or gain another pick yes I would hope we give him a serious look.
... is a terrific athlete who will be a great NFL G, but probably G only.
G is not as high on the list of needs as C and 5 tech. Depth at T is also a major concern which can be addressed in round 3.
Russ Hochstein has played C in the NFL, but is coming off an injury and may not play many more years.
Seth Olsen is a G who played some RT at Iowa, but mostly G. He has never played C, not even in HS.
Dustin Fry has been on the PS of three different NFL teams. It will be truly impressive if he makes the Broncos' roster.
There has been a debate on other threads about whether Maurkice Pouncy should be selected at #11, or draft JD Walton, Matt Tennant or Eric Olsen later.
A recent mock by Mat'hir Uth Gan had Odrick at #11, Walton at #45, Newhouse at #80 and Olsen at #114.
That's a good plan because quality DL prospects are few and must be taken early. Walton can start at C backed up by Olsen who can also play G. Newhouse can play G and T.
Such a plan would leave the 6th and 7th rounds for addressing depth at RB.
If Jared Odrick is available at #11, he should be selected.
