  • Just an incredible highlight tape this kid has!

    Didn't expect it from him.

Watch the whole thing. He nearly broke a defender's leg.

I've been lucky enough to watch Shipley for a loong time as a Longhorn fan. He's a great player and should be a good slot guy at the next level.

I do not doubt that he will be a great slot guy, but I also think he can be a out side WR as well. I feel that any white guy who is quick coming out of college is labled as a slot guy. I am not saying that is your reason for saying he will be a slot guy, I am just speaking in general terms.

Yeah I know what you mean. I'm just not sure if he has the size to play outside in the NFL.

I'm glad he's still making a case for all the white guys trying to get in the NFL

I like Shipley, but we already have 3 or 4 receivers with similar skill sets (McKinley, Royal, Stokley, and maybe Lloyd). I think Dez Bryant, Arrelious Benn, and Damian Williams fit what we are looking for at receiver.

I think Lloyd is more of a deep threat poor mans Ashley Lelie than anything, but yeah, McKinley, Royal, and Stokley are very similar to Shipley, which makes me think we won't take him.

Physically they are very similar, but in terms of playing style I think Shipley is much more versatile. We've all see the gif of Lloyd scared out of his mind going over the middle

I think the Lelie comparison is a much better fit

Well said. I agree that Shipley resembles Mckinley, Royal and Stokley. However, I think Shipley is better that McKinley and is oftly close to skill as Royal. I agree that broncos will not take Shipley but because of how the draft just unfolds itself and not because he resembles to many of our current receiver. With that said I do feel your argument is a legitimate point in the search for WR. We just do not know what Mcdaniels thinks about him?

ya but stokley is like what 34, and he is getting worse 2 years ago he was injury prone and last year he dropped alought of passes. I think it is time to move away from stokley
A healthy Kenneth Dixon is a top 5 NFL RB.

Reminds me of a young Brand Stokley i think Royal has a better skill set than Shiply royal has proven he can play outside with Shanny i doubt Shiply cant but who knows

imagin our WR core with Dez Bryant or another rookie , Shipely , Royal , and Gaffney with Richiard Quinn doing his thing at TE and Tim Tebow throwing the ball.
Now go get your shine box

I really really like Jordan Shipley.
                          But two things...
He is not a first round pick and should be gone EARLY second round(37-42).
Also, he was and outside guy in college but prob be best fit as a slot guy in the NFL and that spot is taken by Stokley and Royal....

I am not a fan of highlight reals because they are designed to make a layer look so much better then they are. That said there are 3 receivers that deserve the respect with little dropped passes and major plays

                            Freddie Barnes 7th rounder
Highlight video of Freddie Barnes, the nation's leader in receptions, yards, and touchdowns.

Denario Alexander (I hope he is healthier) possible 6th definite 7th
danario, danario alexander, mizzou, mu, mu football. mizzou football, missouri football, missouri, alexander, wide receiver, alexander wide receiver, mizzou danario alexander, receiver, mizzou receiver, alexander mizzou receiver, danario alexander 2009, alexander 2009, mizzou 2009

                            Jordan Shipley 4th rounder

Ild take any of these soft handed receivers in a heart beat and non of them are highly rated which means they have a better potential for upside

                              Barnes

Barnes is going to be the next Colston. If he's there in the 6th, I'd think hard about taking him, but the 7th? No brainer, this kid is going to produce and I feel that we have to get him one way or another because of his upside and extremely low risk at his draft projection.

Shippley is a stud and is going to do well no matter where he plays. I was amazed by his play at Texas and he consistenly made Colt look better than he really is by making ridiculous catches and turning short plays into 60 yard TDs (kinda like BM). I would love to have Shippley, regardless of who's on our roster right now, BUT...we need interior OL help that we should use our 2nd or 3rd picks on and Shipp will go in that area. He's projected as a 2nd rounder in most mocks.
