  • Denver emerging as new candidate for No. 1 pick?

I can't imagine selling off all our picks for 1 player when we have so many other needs, but here it is, so fire away!

Cleveland Browns general manager Tom Heckert publicly announced that his team had held conversations with the St. Louis Rams about obtaining the No. 1 overall pick.

It will be interesting to see if the Denver Broncos are as forthcoming with their internal conversations.

I am told that some of the reason that Denver has been asking for picks rather than veteran players in return for Brandon Marshall and Tony Scheffler is that the club is considering making a significant proposal to the Rams for the first overall pick.

The Broncos feature Kyle Orton as their starting quarterback and recently acquired Brady Quinn, but head coach Josh McDaniels is thought to be very high on Sam Bradford and could see Orton as a stopgap starter until Bradford is ready to take over.

The Broncos own four picks within the draft's top 80 selections, including the 11th overall. Josh McDaniiels has shown a willingness to trade future picks in the past. He traded Denver's 2010 first round pick to Seattle last year for the right to move up in the second round and select Wake Forest cornerback Alphonso Smith.

I know it sounds stupid but you never know how these things would turn out.

Would you be opposed to trading every pick in this draft for a young John Elway?

                Ahhhh!

I would beat the sh*t out of McD if this actually happened.
Worst possible scenario. There would be riots in the streets.

Give me a F'n break. I know you're trying to be optimistic and hypothetical, but come on. There was and forever will only be ONE John frickin Elway.

I'm not saying Bradford is another Elway, I'm saying he has the potential to be a great QB, and I'm pretty sure you knew I was saying that.

I was "hoping" that's what you meant, but the post read as if you were comparing them. Bradford may end up being great, but We are not one great QB from a Ring, so we can't give up the farm just yet.

Who knows? Brady Quinn may end up being a pro bowl QB one day. Just sayin.

Umm...so...what has this guy been smoking?

                          And for Bradford to boot...
Only fools bet against Tim Tebow.

                          Team Tebow #108

                          Yards, without points, mean nothing.

I wouldn't HATE the move, I wouldn't be happy but let's be real guys, this has about a 0.0000001% chance of happening IMO. All McDaniels has talked about is trading down, not trading up so I don't see this happening at all. McDaniels is smarter than Ditka was to go and get Ricky Williams, so I say there's no chance this is happening, just the media riling people up :salute!:
