I hope those scouts are correct if we do in fact draft him. I would rather spend one of our seconds on J.D. Walton.
I hope so too. From I read from J.D Walton draft reports i be cautious to draft him as a starting center as well he has trouble against multiple blitz shooting up where he guarding and he needs to improve on his cut blocking.

I like Brandon Spikes. But I have alot easier time seeing him gone by the time we pick than Tebow being gone. Spikes can be NFL ready by next year Tebow need atleast 1 to 2 years to become ready to take snaps from center.

That is all they did in their system. We run shotgun I would say a little less than half the amount of our snaps. I don't want to reach on a Center that hasn't snapped under Center the past 3 years. I like Pouncey and wouldn't mind us drafting him, but I would much rather use our first on Odrick, Bryant, Spiller, McClain or even Weatherspoon. If we drop back to 24 with the Eagles and Pouncey is still there, then fine I'm for it, but I"m not buying into the hype of him being the "Best Center for years to come" when he hasn't snapped under Center the past 3 years....sorry.

He could be strength is his strong suit. But I not sure if he is ready to just enter and plug in his first year. If we had a starting center that already fit the system we going to run I would have chosen him instead of Pouncey. Since we dont and Pouncey is the best center that most experts deem him NFL ready i would trade down in a heartbeat to take him.

Positives; Quick set after the snap getting hands into the defenders. Works hard to keep contact maintains his anchort against bigger stronger defenders. Best in close quarters. Strong against double teams. Gets low in Goal-line and Short-yardage situations taking out his man. Adjust to late line shifts, Using angles to his advantage.

Negatives: Short arms make it difficult to sustain blocks against defensive tackles with above average wing span. Not quick or smooth as a runner. Lacks agility to adjust onto oncoming defenders.

Well he might be gone by then but there is no guarantees to that and if he is gone then in the second we take jd walton is there realy that big of a drop off between the two?

Another reason why trading down and getting that many picks is a good idea is because with roughly 50 first round grades in this draft that means our 3 picks outside of the top fifty would be like acquiring second round talents. So really its like getting three first rounders and three second rounders this year. Idk about you but I know that sounds very exciting to me! (If mcdaniels has done his work and drafts the right players)
