    • Good, i didnt want him anyways.. I like our OL the way it is, Walton will be better as will Beadles/Olsen at LG.

      • Good I didn't want him to come here. He's below average.

        • Signing Richie Incognito was a much bigger thing for the Fins (granted he has been labeled the Russell of the O-line)

Procter was lucky to be the 25th best player in his position on the market. Still Pitts, Thomas, and Vincent are still available I guess the coming off an injury thing hurts their chances.

          • I think McD is going to be good with J.D. Walton. He's nasty and has the mean side you need to play center.

                • More info on Bruce Davis

Davis originally agreed to attend the University of Arkansas, but later changed his mind and enrolled at his father's alma mater. During the 2003 season, he redshirted as a defensive end for the Bruins. The following season, Davis started the team's first two games at right defensive end, sharing that position with Justin Hickman and Brigham Harwell the rest of the year. He posted 17 tackles (11 solo) with 2.5 sacks and broke up one pass.

Davis shifted to strong-side linebacker prior to the 2005 campaign. Due to injuries, he also competed at defensive end that year. In 12 contests as a reserve, he was in on 28 tackles (17 solos) with a pair of sacks and six stops for losses. He also caused a fumble and showed his coverage skills by deflecting four passes.

Back at right defensive end, the coaching staff unleashed Davis while moving Hickman to the left side. Both of those players ended up with the team and Pac-10 Conference lead, while ranking fourth nationally with 12.5 sacks, the third-best season total in school annals.

Davis ranked second in the league with 17.5 stops behind the line of scrimmage and produced 47 tackles (35 solos) while causing three fumbles and recovering two others. Even though he earned first-team All-American honors from College Football News, the league's coaches only selected him to the All-Pac 10 Conference second-team.

As a senior, Davis garnered All-American second-team and All-Pac-10 first-team honors. He started all year at right end, pacing the league while ranking ninth nationally with 12 sacks. He led the Bruins with 15.5 stops for losses, as he caused two fumbles and recovered another. He broke up nine passes and registered 45 tackles (32 solo).

In 50 games at UCLA, Davis started 28 contests at right defensive end. He recorded 137 tackles (95 solos) with 29 sacks for minus 170 yards and 42.5 stops for losses of 229 yards. He posted five quarterback pressures and deflected seventeen passes. He caused six fumbles and recovered three others, returning two for a total of 20 yards.

                  Career Notes
Davis ranks second in school history with 29 quarterback sacks, topped only by David Ball's 30.5 (2000-03)...His 42.5 stops for losses rank third in school annals behind Ball (43.5) and Carnell Lake (45.5, 1985-88)...His 17.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage in 2006 rank ninth and his 15.5 stops for losses in 2007 rank tenth on the school's season-record list...His 12.5 sacks in 2006 tied Justin Hickman (2006) and Donnie Edwards (1994) for third on UCLA's season-record chart, topped by Dave Ball (16.5 in 2003) and Carnell Lake (13 in 1987).

                  High School
Attended Clear Creek (League City, Tex.) High School, playing football for head coach Aubrey Schulz...Received a six-star prospect rating from Max Emfinger's recruiting service and earned All-American accolades, in addition to being ranked 19th among the nation's defensive ends, according to Tom Lemming...Added Super Prep All-American and All-Southwest/Texas honors, as that recruiting service rated him the 20th-best overall prospect in the state...The Prep Star All-American selection added All-Greater Houston Area and All-League recognition as a senior...That season, he recorded 65 tackles (50 solo), 12 quarterback sacks and 17 stops for losses...As a junior, he registered 32 tackles, including eight sacks...Also lettered in track, competing in the long jump.

Its about time. . . that guy has had more second, third, fourth, fifth chances than anyone that I know. . . unless there is some change in his game this offseason, not sure he will make it outta training camp.

                          • From watching Dumervil progress from a 4-3 DE in college through the NFL into an elite LB in the NFL, it took a while for him; I am hopefull either Davis and or Moss progress as well. With the size of Moss I am extremly hopefull he can progress form his lacking. Both of these players career's will be decided this year and maybe next at most one way or another. To me though i want Moss to get it!!!!!!!!!! The most talent and depth possible never hurts!!!!

Good signing the D definetly needs bolstered with relative youth. Having DJ there to guide them sure helps. Hopefully we can Dumer signed to a long contract, right!
I hate the Defenseless Receiver rule and the fines. Posted since '07. 2011 rule addition :nono: backhand a fool!

                            • Just because Doom didnt work in a 4-3 but did in 3-4 doesnt mean he will. Doom is 5-11 hes considered short by even 3-4 OLB standards he wasnt built for the 4-3. Also he had better stats then Davis did.

In fact if only Ameer Ismail had better stats and he hasnt been in the NFL. Its a hit or miss a good portion of the time, still should be interesting to see if he gets his 2nd year in 3 years on the 53 man roster

                              • Not huge news, and I doubt he will have much of an impact, but he's got some potential and at least he's under 30... Overall I like the signing.
