  • Official Draft Day Thread

I twittered this early yesterday, but thought that I'd share it here as well. If I'm playing General Manager for the Denver Broncos here are my first four picks:
    • (G) Mike Iupati
    • (WR) Demaryius Thomas
    • (C) Matt Tennant
    • (ILB) Brandon Spikes.

My number one prospect in the entire draft is Dez Bryant, but I just really don't see the Broncos taking him. I wouldn't be surprised to see them take CJ Spiller at #11 if he's there though.

Earlier this offseason I thought that the Broncos could even take a tight end with their number one, but after speaking to my cohart (and beloved member of this board) Asian Orange, I just don't see them doing it.

The only thing that we can expect as Broncos Nation is the expect the unexpected.

I just don't trust in defense in this years draft and through the interviews with McDaniels all he keeps talking about draft prospect wise if offensive tackles and corner backs (Denver needs neither).

    So there you have it...

we are in a place that we can pick best player available. i think we need 3 or 4 players to make our team much better. i say we trade back into the 20's of the 1st and also get a third for our 11th overall. its also good the draft is spread out in 3 days. more time to get ready and think for the best players available at each position that we need.

I don't think that we'll be able to trade back. There are probably more teams in the top 10 that are willing to trade back then there are teams trying to trade in.

I was thinking that it would be better to have 11 then #4 or #6 though. Who would you get if you had either of those picks?

I think new england are a realistic trading parter considering there want for odrick. Depending on how bad they want him the more we can get out of them.

          Ian,

          What about T depth?

How about a big RB for short yardage?

Isn't an every down 5 tech needed?

Just wondering what your take is on these questions, Bro.

i would get best player available. berry at 4 and clausen at 6. i wouldnt want anything inthe top ten though, this draft is pretty deep. every position that we need we can definately find in the 2nd and 3rd with quality players.

On the clock the St.Louis Rams
I have to say it's pretty much out there they are getting Suh.
                  Ohh wait I mean Bradford....lol
But my question really is, How long will it take for Bradford to be productive in St.Louis?

He's going to improve their record off the get-go, but he won't be high quality until they get a better O-line. They give up sacks and QB hits like parents give candy on Halloween. Bulger's probably scarred for life.

It usually takes two seasons for a rookie to start to get the feel for the game. The third year is usually where the big improvement happens, and by then the team has hopefully given them a good offense to work with.

3 years with grade A drafts addressing both WR and OL.

Put it this way. By the time Bradford becomes a high caliber QB, Steven Jackson will be on the decline.
