I am starting to think it will be anticlimatic. I don't see us getting the big names, nor do I see us picking a bunch of bust. I think it will be a bunch of middle of the roaders. I am not knocking our Coach or the Front office. I just feel it will be a let down from all the hopes some members have.

You'll either love the fact we didn't draft him, or love the fact we did.
Should be good stuff.
The post day 1 wheeling & dealing should be fun to follow on all the twitter accounts as well.Hate List for 2016-2017 Season: 1. Oakland, 2. New England, 3. Kansas City, 4. Pittsburgh and 5. Houston (yes, Houston....)

VERY VERY PUMPED..
Thought it over.. Would McDaniels really draft a QB when we have 3 on the roster. He got Orton in a trade, traded up for Brandstater, just traded for Quinn, all are hand picked for a reason. Unless we trade Orton, i dont think we take Tebow. Wont make sense. Whatever we do in the draft, just please do not get Tebow.

There are so many strong opinions on all sides of the players that the draft creates an atmosphere of disagreement amongst the fans. Some will be mad that Denver didn't draft player "X" instead of their guy and others will love the pick. Some people will give McD and the X man slack depending on the amount of trust they have in them. Others will be calling for their heads because they have already lost their trust, If they had any trust to begin with.

Looking Ahead To Day Two
Alright, I'm done complaining and whining about the Tebow and Thomas picks. As much as I dislike the picks, they're not going to change magically. All I can do is hope for the best and pray that they pan out and become excellent football players.
Time to look forward:
2nd and 3rd round tomorrow, and we have three picks in those two rounds. I fully anticipate the Broncos being aggressive, but just for simplicities sake, I'm going to post my day 2 predictions for us. Let me know what you think.
2nd round pick- C Matt Tennant
I know, it a little bit of a reach. But we CAN NOT afford to let the center get away from us. We didn't address it today, so it MUST be addressed tomorrow. I think it's too risky to wait until the 3rd round to pick him up. I prefer Tennant to Walton because Tennant has more athleticism, which projects better in our spread offense, and he's a much better pass-protector. Additionally, his frame has not reached its full potential, and he can easily add 10+ pounds without losing his athletic edge over JD Walton.
3rd round pick- DL Torell Troup
He would be a great addition to our line rotation. I can see Troup playing all three positions on a 3-4 defensive line. He adds an infusion of youth to the line along with versatility. He's an ideal pick here because he fills a need and is also great value. (Alternate is DL Lamarr Houston)
3rd round pick- ILB Brandon Spikes
I can't begin to tell you guys how much I like Brandon Spikes. Hell I'd trade up to draft him. In all sincerity, I don't think the gap between McClain and Spikes is huge. They're both great leaders, solid tacklers, smart and instinctive players, and premiere linebackers. People forget that Spikes was a premiere linebacker before his infamous eye-gouging incident and slow 40 time. What he lacks in speed he makes up with intelligence and instinct, evidenced by his 6 interceptions in his last 2 seasons at Florida. He'd bring a physical presence, and be that young leader that we desperately need. (Alternate RB Toby Gerhart/ OLB Koa Misi)
Thoughts?

I would not be surprised to see us add some more day 2 picks. Ed Werder was saying that he would not be surprised to see McDaniels move some of next years draft picks.
What picks do we have now? I keep seeing people post that we don't have a 4th rounder anymore? Is that true?
By my count we should have:
2.
3.
3.
4.
5.
6.

We traded a 2nd, 3rd, 4th to draft Tim Tebow.
So our remaining picks are 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 5th, 6th

EDIT: i think i know what happened. When we traded up with the Pats I believe we gave them one 4th, then another in the Tebow deal.

We got a 4th when we traded with the 49ers, and that left us with two 4th rounders (ours and the 49ers)
Then we traded with the Eagles and we picked up their 24th pick along with two 3rd round picks.
Then we traded up with the Patriots to 22nd to draft Demaryius Thomas and just gave up a 4th round pick.

I think we're gonna trade down some more. The draft is loaded, I think somebody will wanna jump us and take somebody.
I think Vladimir Ducasse in the 2nd would make some sense. I don't think Tennant or Walton are being taken in the 2nd. There are too many outstanding OT's and OG's on the board for somebody to take them.
