  • Any one else love/hating this draft

Lets start off saying I think this draft has been great. We have drafted our offense now to be set for a long time.

    QB: Tim Tebow
-- I honestly dont like this pick, but im not crying over it. The reason I dont like it is because of all the throwing mechanics, blah blah, all of that repeated stuff. I believe Clausen will be a great QB in this league and wished we could have gotten him, but we have someone who will always try his hardest, and will never quit, and I love that. I just dont want to wait two years to see him play, he is just not NFL ready so hopefully McDaniels is that supposed QB genius

our RB is Moreno in his second year and I cant wait to see his production.

WR: we have a set recieving core for a long long time. Thomas (love this pick) Eric Decker (Been hearing good things), Royals back in the slot HOPEFULLY!!! and Mckinley.

OL is being built how McD wants it to fit his scheme so Im liking that too.

The things I dont like are not getting Spikes. This and the Tebow pick is what rubs me the wrong way. Spikes will be great IMO. DROY. I know this doesnt matter much but I did pick Cushing to win it last year.

Look i dont hate Tebow I actually like him so dont say im a hater, I love his work ethic, I just look at him as I look at Tyler Hansbrough in basketball. Hes one of those guys everyone on the team likes, never a cancer, will work the hardest to be great, but the truth is he will always be mediocre. (Hansbrough that is. I cant predict if Tebow will be)

Please prove me wrong Tebow becuase I want to love this pick

how the hell do you know the truth about tebow is that he will always be avg

as far as im concerned the man has never been avg his entire life, he hates avg, he despises mediocrity, hes a winner, a leader, everything you look for in a QB except a few coachable things

I've honestly loved every pick so far. From Thomas to Decker there hasn't been a pick that is going to hinder our team. Thomas is going to be an absolute stud at the WR position, Tebow may not start this year, but is a hard worker that'll be our future franchise guy IMO. Beadles I presume will start at LG and should great at that position, while Walton is our Center for the next 10-12 years. Decker should also be a stud.

Honestly I'm feeling very good about our team right now, it's time we take respect back from the league and that's what we're going to do!!!! :salute!:

I think nearly everyone on this board right now is wearing the orange colored glasses right now, sippin' the orange Kool Aid. I hope each and everyone of these picks pans out to be the player McDaniels sees them being in his system. I like how McD emphasizes character, drive, etc; I want the Broncos to embody a classy, team-first organization.

The simple fact is that there are glaring deficiencies on this team (especially on the defensive side of the ball) that still have not been addressed. We need players who can have an impact on the field ASAP. Taking a project QB was a liberty we really didn't have. I'm hoping he turns out to be a stud... but there are a lot of quality players that could have been taken with those 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round picks.

I'm a Tebow fan for sure but, I totally agree. Coach says teams win championships and then give up three potentially good picks. That really rocked me to start with. I have calmed down and am willing to say that those picks were not ours to start with. McD earned them and he spent them.

On the other side of it. Ortin will play his heart out this year knowing who's on his tail. He will do it for his future as a bronco or where ever he goes. He will have two years to say I'm the man before Tebow takes over (if Tebow does develop). This I like!!
            This is the NFL!!

            Don't sing it... Bring It!!!!!

            Go Broncos!!!!!!!

Simply put: I don't think the draft could have gone any better for us so far.

Absolutely brilliant manuevering by McDaniels and company. Loved every second of it. Only wish we could have stolen Jordan Shipley instead of Decker.

My 2007 Adopt a Broncos are Brandon Marshall and Erica Weston

Only thing I didnt like was the Tebow pick. He could have been had with a high 30-40 pick if McD wanted him THAT badly. Too much was given up for a huge project.

                  I'm not the happiest camper.

But I'm not the angriest either.
The Browns are gone; I'm not a fan of the Impostors

The real Browns are in Baltimore, see?

IMO the only "glaring deficiencies" have to do with depth. Even then, they aren't "glaring".

Honestly, comparing Tebow to Hansbrough is beyond dumb.

At least compare him to somebody int he NFL.
Very happy to have Tebow in orange and blue!!!

                      Team Tebow #16

Not according to the reports about the Bills trying to work up a package for him.

I think you guys have had a good draft so far. You revive your Secondary and get a QB for the future at a good value :salute!:

The OL moves I get. I don't really know Decker, but I tended to think that after Thomas, our WR need dropped way down, while we still have depth needs at LB and DE.

That said, I hear only good things about our picks, so I can't really hate on them. It just leaves me with even more questions about our final roster.

Please justify that statement. Just look at our defense. Most of our starters are old, injury-prone, or overpaid. The young guys we do have are, for the most part, raw and unproven in high-pressure situations. You really think that this unit, as is, can lead this team to the division title, let alone a Super Bowl? With that group of defensive linemen, linebackers? That's even assuming that all of these key guys somehow manage to stay healthy (which is highly unlikely - it's football). This team needs A LOT of work on the defensive side of the ball, going beyond what was done during free agency. Thus far in the draft, that has not happened.

Listen, as I said before, I do like the guys who we took. I am all for establishing a high-character, classy, hardworking Denver Broncos team. I'm glad we're reinforcing the trenches between our stud tackles. I love this team, and of course I'm excited and optimistic to see what McDaniels and Tebow can become, because the truth is that the fate of both of these guys' NFL careers are now irreversibly tied to one another.

I feel like a lot of people, who might not have seen any of these guys aside from Tebow even play, are blindly praising these picks just based on sheer optimism after googling a guy like Zane Beadles and reading about his projected strengths. It's going to take years to truly evaluate the success of this draft. Look at what this team needs right now.
