It is mind boggling to me how inconsistent and contradictory these analysts are depending upon their bias.
When talking about the Tebow draft analyst after analyst has belittled the pick with few welcome exeptions. Much of the criticism of the pick has been something along the lines of "you don't waste a top 25 pick for someone who's not ready to play now, can't make your team better today, it will be 2 years before he's ready to contribute, etc."
In the next breath they are cautioning the St. Louis Rams to avoid a major mistake by throwing Bradford out their in week one. Wait until at least week 6 or 7, etc. The number 1 pick and you want to give him half a year before seeing the field, and according to the analyst's brilliance, that's wise yet waiting for Tebow, not. The number 25 pick, maybe not ready to compete for 1 or 2 years, that's a mistake?
And yet, these same analysts talk about how great the positions Macoy and Clausen, expounding on things like "they can sit and learn the first year and don't have to be rushed in too early". So this is good for them, yet bad for Denver? And it's not just because he was a first round pick, as many 1st round picks at QB have waited their turn.
So which is it? These are bright guys, but they clearly formulate much of their analysis based on their bias. Unfortunately for McD, it appears that the conventional wisdom and bias is flowing against him. Many of these analysts were all over him from day one for the Cutler trade, grudgingly complimentary after a 6-0 start, and then I told you so by season's end.
