IDK guy could never establish himself against limited competition at NCST...he has soft hands but not a whole lot else...still prefer Lance Ball.

      R Ayers - B Cofield - A Haynesworth - CJ ohnson
      J Anderson - J Beason - DJ Williams
      R Bailey - P Amukamara - R Hill - A Goodman

            DraftNasty.com Description
Once regarded as the top running back in the ACC, Baker has struggled to get back in the limelight after his freshman season. Baker was sidelined for most of the 2007 season and missed all of 2008 after suffering a serious knee injury. The 225 pound back came to NC State with such high expectations; after all, he is the all-time high school leading rusher in North Carolina. Baker worked relentlessly to regain strength in his knee to start for the Wolfpack in 2009. He finished the 2009 season with 773 yards and 6 touchdowns.

            Height: 5-9⅝ | Weight: 234 | 40-Time: 4.59

Despite being granted a sixth year of eligibility, Baker is testing the draft waters even though it's far from certain he'll be selected. The biggest reason why teams may pass on the North Carolina native is he'll be running on a reconstructed knee that required two surgeries, causing him to miss the entire 2008 season and most of 2007. Baker came back this season to play in all 12 of North Carolina State's games, finishing with a team-leading 773 yards rushing and 355 receiving while scoring nine touchdowns. However, he also had some fumbling problems in 2009 and often couldn't get a good burst off that injured knee. Injury woes derailed Baker's career after he showed plenty of promise in his first two seasons with the Wolfpack, rushing for 1,234 yards and 11 TDs before being named to the 2007 preseason list for the Doak Walker Award. Instead, Baker fought through a disappointing stint at N.C. State following one of the best prep careers ever with 10,231 rushing yards - at the time third-most in national high school history - and 161 touchdowns. Baker, who turns 24 in June, is a talented receiver who could be a good third-down back in the NFL if a team is willing to take a chance on him.

                Here is SI's take

Biography: Posted career rushing numbers as a senior with 160/773/6, while adding 28/355/3 as a pass catcher. Sat out the 2008 season and all of 2007 except for one game after suffering a serious knee injury that required two surgeries to repair. Led North Carolina State in rushing as a sophomore in 2006 with numbers of 157/688/6.

Positives: Hard running interior back with good vision. Effectively uses his blocks, finds the running lanes and shows power in his lower body. Breaks the first tackle and easily picks up yardage off initial contact. Runs underneath his pads and displays the ability to slide off tackles. Solid pass catcher who extends to make the reception away from his frame. Picks up assignments in pass protection and shows footwork as well as the ability to slide laterally.

Negatives: Shows just a marginal burst of speed. Minimal ability to create yardage.

Analysis: Baker showed a lot of skill early in his career before being sidelined with a knee injury for almost 2 full seasons. He's a well-sized back with solid running skills, yet he seems to have lost a lot of quickness and speed due to the surgery. Must pass medicals, but he could fit in as a third back at the next level.

Personally I wanted Manase Tonga o well Raiders have a good FB.

He's a long shot but as an UDFA we really have nothing to lose.

Sounds like he packs a punch. Bummer to hear about the injuries though.... that's always sad. At least he's manning up and trying to fight back from it. I always root for the underdog so I'd love to see him make the roster

Here's a couple videos I found on him. Sounds very intelligent and humble. Also has a great skill set and after a year or two on the practice squad he could contribute as a good third down back. Good pick up IMO.

We got a steal. I'm assuming Baker only fell because of his knee injury. In one of his interviews from last season he said he was getting faster each week, so who knows if he's even close to his potential yet.
