  • Already Starting the Bandwagon for Heyward Next Draft

Cameron Heyward would be a beastly 5-tech I am already drooling over the though of getting him next year.

What do you expect the Broncos biggest needs will be in the draft next year?

Do you really think we'll be able to draft him from the 32nd position? We might have to trade up and sacrifice one of those 2nd rounders we have.

When has McDaniels cared about trading up to grab a player he really likes.

CB-replacement for Bailey, and competition for Alphonso Smith, it will not suprise me if we use our first round pick on a CB

ILB- Haggins is not the long term answer at ILB

OLB- Replacements for Darrel Reid and Jarvis Moss

DE- Young 5 technique defensive end

NT- young NT, Jamal Williams is gettting up there in age.

        RB- Buckhalter durability issues.

I agree completely with your assessment. The order of need is yet to be determined but those are the positions I see needing the most significant upgrades or overhaul. McD set the team up this year with offense....next year will be defense.......and the year after that will be a mixture and we will be contenders. 2-3 years = AFC West Championship

I doubt that; I mean McD got Cox for a reason. But he could take a chance at a CB in the 1st or 2nd. And just to think if we would of never wasted our 1st round to get Smith we could of gotten Earl Thomas this year and then we would have nothing to worry about.

I'd love it, but Heyward is a top 5-10 pick next year. It'll be hard to trade up into that range.

Not if we have another 8-8 season or worst lol. Though im counting on us to win atleast 9 games this year honestly. But I dont remember McD ever trading up. If anything hes a coach who likes trading down to get players he wants.

2010 - Tim Tebow, traded up to 25th pick
2009 - Alphonso Smith, traded up to the 37th pick
2009 - Richard Quinn, traded up to the 64th pick

3 times. traded down a couple times this year only to end up trading back up again. just sayin

                      Lets see:

Up from 2010 draft into the 2009 2nd to get Alphonso Smith
Up from the 3rd to the 2nd to Grab Richard Quinn
Up within the 5th to get Kenny McKinley
Up from the 7th to the 6th to get Tom Brandstater
Up from the 2nd to the 1st to get Tim Tebow
Up from 2011 draft to 2010 7th draft to get Syd'Quan Thompson
Up from 2011 draft to 2011 7th draft to get Jammie Kirlew

Yeah, he never trades up to target a player....

Im talking about in the 1st round. He never trades up in the 1st round. When he snagged Tebow he gave away what a 3rd or something to get in the late 1st. I have yet to see him use an original 1st round pick and then trade up to get another player.

Im talking about trading up from the 1st round to an earlier pick to get a player he wants. Im not talking about starting from the 2nd and trading up to get a late 1st pick and drafting a guy.

If you're only talking about the 1st round, then maybe you should say that. You said McDaniels does not trade up to get players when in fact he's done it at least 7 times in just 2 drafts.

                            As to 1st rounders:

Going into the 2009 draft he had two 1st's - he stayed put with both. One could (I certainly would) argue he traded up, however, by giving up a 2010 1st to get Alphonso Smith.

Going into the 2010 draft he had one 1st. He traded back from 11 to 22. He then traded a 2nd, a 3rd and a 4th (not just "a 3rd or something") to move UP into the 1st to grab Tebow.
