They passed on Clausen at #30. They're obviously fine with their backup QB's. I see no reason why they'd want to add Orton.

I hope for the teams sake he is great, but to say "he's our man" is a joke so far.
I agree that he SHOULD NOT start right away. I want to develp him slowly like SD did with Rivers. Coach him up for a couple of years and let him learn how to be a pro quarterback.
One more point. None of the QB's on our roster are "trash."Show your joy

how about we trade orton some one plus like two future 7th round picks. if we keep at this enough, people will have to deal with so much spin off draft picks and players from the cutler deal that eventually, they'll stop caring.disclaimer: if the above post appears to contain outrageously illogical content, ITS PROBABLY SARCASM

No way this trade happens, it just doesn't make sense on the Vikings behalf. They have an average QB in Jackson that already knows the offense, why bring in another average QB that doesn't know the offense? Really, it's bad for both teams. Denver would have to rely on a QB, regardless of how good they are, that doesn't know the offense, I don't think that McD wants to go through back to back headache/teaching seasons with a new QB.

McD has consistently got WAY more than market value for almost every trade he has made.
Arizona got a 3rd and a 4th, for Boldin and a 5th.
Pittsburgh got a 5th for Holmes.
and McDaniels got two 2nds for Marshall...
And we all know he got a $#IT load of picks for cutler...
If anyone can get a good deal for Orton, it's McDaniels..

They already have Sage, who already knows the system and has at least some work with the team.
Meanwhile, we'd be left without a starting QB and someone who had never taken a regular season snap with us before. We'd be back to square one like we were last season.
It's not happening.

again, this is just food for thought. no matter what happens. there is no way all 4 guys stay on our roster for very long.
