While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.

Yes, cause the team morale was SOOO terrible last season. He didnt even go to TC last offseaso (as i said before) and he came out swingin' and the WHOLE Vikes team loved him. I dont think there is any animosity towards Favre. Everyone knew this was going to happen. STOP acting so shocked he wasnt going to show up.
Not shocked. I just wish he would man up and tell everyone he doesn't want to participate in TC instead of coming up with all kinds of excuses to stay away from camp. Just be honest about it.
Best not to put too much stock in this idea of Orton being traded to the Vikings... cause that would then mean we'd be counting on a Brett Favre retirement decision.... there's way too many reasons to go into why that isn't exactly a good idea.
Well if Sage and Jackson so that just puts them in better contention for Jake Locker lol.
Luck is a top 10 talent assuming he doesnt decline and he may not enter and many dont question his personality like Clausen.
Mallett is like a giant Cutler to the extreme he has a great arm with horrible instincts and questionable accuracy but because he is impressive he is a top 10 guy and he also may not enter
Terrelle Pryor is the king of inconsistency so who knows where he will land if he enters
Best bet Devlin or Foles.
Foles may not enter and checks it down way to often I wouldnt trust him
Devlin is may favorite QB in the draft he is low rated but has an amazing arm with incredible accuracy and supposedly has a good head on his shoulders.
I was never sold on Pryor anyways. I think he would make a good WR in the NFL though. With his height and his 4.3 speed he could actually be a good receiver if he works at it. OSU QBs these days don't have much to offer especially when making the college and NFL transistion.
Brandstater's throwing motion is more pleasing to watch, but he reads defenses like it's a Political Science text (meaning it takes forever and he doesn't understand it), he stares down receivers, he takes forever to throw, and although the ball is a perfect spiral it's not exactly "on the money" all the time.
There's a reason he was third on the depth chart last season. There's a reason he's fourth on the depth chart this season - including being listed behind a QB that until this morning, had never touched an NFL field.
I still say give him a chance and see what he can do. If McD isn't going to use him at all then he basically just wasted a pick. I was really hoping to see him play when Orton got hurt but Chris Simms came in and costed us the game. Besides, the best QBs today like Manning had questions about reading defenses and such. Brandstater is the same size as McD's past QBs that he has coached over. Tom Brady and Matt Cassel for example. All have about the same size and are built the same. And when Brady got hurt we saw how Cassel came in and played like a pro-bowl QB. I was hoping something like that would happen when Orton got hurt.
They can get Andrew Luck if they're LUCKY enough for him to fall to them. Assuming they have a good season this year.

Quite honestly he looked average at best in the games I've seen from him when he rode on Gerhart the whole season.

Well I was just pointing out a QB they could possibly get. Locker will be gone (assuming they have a winning season) and probably mallet if he comes out his JR year.
They already have Sage, who already knows the system and has at least some work with the team.
Meanwhile, we'd be left without a starting QB and someone who had never taken a regular season snap with us before. We'd be back to square one like we were last season.
It's not happening.

the broncos won't trade orton, maybe quinn but not orton, not to say i wouldn't be all for it cuz i would. But McDaniels thinks part of the upside too this season is that orton has another year of this offense, i don't expect a trade.

Everyone says that about him...I dont see him as a weak armed QB...
The Vikings would want to have a TRUE starter...Thats what Orton would give them...He doesn't turn it over...and they have a KILLER running game...Plus they added TG...Tob-and -AP is a huge 1 two punch!!!
They have a GREAT defense, and all they need is a QB that doesn't turn it over...Great ST with Harvin, Orton with that team would not skip a BEAT!

Orton for Gerhardt straight up. I'd take it in a heartbeat. Yes, I know that means we'll suck this year, but I don't think we're a playoff team as it stands anyway, so why not?
I agree, then all the groupies can flood the Viking's forum.
favre has stated that he may never play again if he has to have ankle surgery to get back on the field again this year. i know this may be far fetched. but, denver has a surplus of qb's right now. if for some reason one of them doesn't work out. would you be against us trading away orton or one of our other qb's for future picks to the vikes?
again, this is just food for thought. no matter what happens. there is no way all 4 guys stay on our roster for very long.
