yea i ment rudolph idk why i said franklin. But there is no way we take a tight end in the first 3 rounds this year in the draft. We need playmakers on defense.sigpic

I love the draft exceptr for kendrick ellis and put derrick locke in casey mathews place. Locke should be gone by the 6th. I dont like ellis. I think we stay in the first to get a stud if we can. Also marony and thomas money is way to big for them. Half both and thats good.Comment

If Casey is on his brother's diet plan he'll be 260 by the time he makes it here.sigpic

Excellent Work! My thoughts are as follows, and are by no means definitive, just simply, my thoughts.
1. Rudolph and Beal are both 95% certain to go in the 1st Round. You're right in that some players slip and that other guys might be rated higher. So, it could happen, thus I have no problem with you projecting it, but I think it's unlikely.
2. The Free Agency stuff is great. I doubt we can afford to throw another big contract at the other OG position, that's too much money wrapped up at OG I think, but I would LOVE it if we could bring in Paul Soliai (or Frank Okam). I spent ridiculous amounts of time on those two years ago, and I believe in both.
3. The draft would be phenominal. Dareus needs to prove himself, he's had a horrific year so far, but if he can play like he did last season in the Championship game, he'd be great.
4. I've cooled on Ta'amu pretty heavily. He was my preseason sleeper, literally my only one, but he's been bad so far. He lost a ton of weight and was supposed to have a breakout year, but it hasn't happened. I am positive he'll stay in school. He said his goal is to leave a dominant legacy behind him, he hasn't approached that yet.
2) yeah I love Soliai for our team also...as for Mankins you could be right about the $ I'm just thinking experience...I truely think we have the youngest line in the NFL and it's killing us.
3)I believe his injury has much to do with it...the consatant double teams dont help either...I may be off but he is probally the most double teamed DT in college.
4) I think giving Ta'amu time to learn behind J-Wall and Soliai would do both him and us wonders for the future.Comment

The ONLY reason why i think we will trade out of the 1st is because of Champs contract extension (IF he gets one). We don't know where we're going to be picking. It could be top 10, it could be on the back half of the 1st rd. Champs potential $10+ mill contract, along with a top 10 draft pick contract could be very ugly financially. Which is why i think we're waiting until after the draft to extend him.
I thought about giving Maroney less, but in all fairness, it should be CLEAR that it's mainly our O-Line and not our RB's as to why we can't run the ball. So i didn't see anything wrong with giving Maroney a fair contract.
I think Marcus Thomas deserves that contract. He he has improved since last year and he gives us depth at NT/DE, and he's been doing a very good job. He's the closes thing we have to Nickel DT. We gave DE Jarvis Green a 4yr $20 mill contract, and he could barely get playing time in the pre-season. So i think Thomas getting a $10 mill contract is more than fair.sigpicComment

Thanx for the comments. Locke should be gone by the 6th? I'm not saying that your wrong, but after looking at lasts years draft, it's hard to tell. Did you notice in last years draft how the QB's and RB's fell waaayyy further than expected?

I don't think ILB is that big of a need. The big need there is a good backup to DJ instead of WW. A dominant SILB would be nice but for now Haggan is doing just fine and so isn't a top priority, IMO.
I would rank the top 5 needs as:
1. NT- Fields is not the answer for the future
2. LG- We don't have one yet
3. DE-Bannan will last just long enough to develop a solid starter
4. S/CB-Dawkins may retire, McBath gets injured, no else behind them. Champ may move to safety which would be my choice then replace him with a top CB pick.
5. OLB-need another pass rusher besides DOOM
TE is a big need but I think one could be had in FA and they just wouldn't contribute as much as the other positions, I have TE as #6 need.Comment

When Lendale White is healthy, he's a very good power back. we won't need to address that this offseason.
we have a very young offensive line. Clady (best LT in the game) 24 years old. Daniels - 25 Walton - 23 Kuper - 27, Harris - 25.
along with zane beadles who's 23.
i say maybe add some DE depth. for once, DE isn't a huge concern. but the depth is. if bannan or vickerson get hurt, who do we start at DE? McBean? NO.
I do agree about OLB depth tho. Jarvis Moss continues to be a first round bust. idk why we still have him. we don't need a player like demarcus ware, but we need depth at the position.
i say give mcbath a shot, (once dawkins retires) but sign a veteran safety just in case. same deal for bruton.sigpic
