  • Well you see, when you're down to Shaquille O'Neal as your only starting CB, you're not going to be very good. Also you have to score to put points on the board

      • So Dallas is winning the superbowl?
What's the difference between ignorance and apathy?
        I don't know and I don't care

          • Mock Draft v2

First, I have us trading Orton for a 3rd round pick, and have us franchising and trading Champ for a 2nd round pick.

Just for the record, I have us picking somewhere between 3 and 8.

            1. Nick Fairley DE - Patrick Peterson would be the pick here if he was still available, but I do not see that happening, especially since Detroit will most likely be picking before us. Still, Fairley is still an absolute stud that will easily help out our DLine.

2a. JJ Watt/ Cameron Jordan/ Cameron Heyward DE - I believe at least one of them will be available at the beginning of the 2nd round. I would pick them in the listed order if all 3 were available. I know it is probably not the smartest thing to pick the same position consecutively, but the 3 of them are probably 1st round talents that will probably slip due to how deep the DLine is this draft. Our line needs all the help it can get anyway.

2b. Mark Barron SS - Our safeties have not played very well this year, and are getting very old. Hill can easily be upgraded, and Barron is a playmaker, which will bring some youth into our aging secondary.

2c. Curtis Brown CB - With the Champ trade, we will need to draft or sign another CB in free agency. I don't think we will pay up to get Richard Marshall, so I have us drafting Brown here. I'm confident with Cox and Goodman starting next year, but Goodman is getting old(er), and we need to get a starting Caliber CB to eventually replace him, and to be great depth in case one of Goodman or Cox gets injured.

3a. Mark Herzlich LB - McD will fall in love with him because of his character, story, leadership, versatility, etc. Our LB core is solid, but Haggan isn't getting younger, and with DJ's recent DUI, getting a versatile LB that can play inside and outside would be great, and he'll eventually replace Haggan.

3b. Phil Taylor NT - We need an anchor to our line to develop behind Jamal. I don't like Powe, and I believe Taylor will have a 3rd round grade when all is said and done, so this won't be a reach. Plus, Taylor is enormous, which is something McD likes in his NT

6a. Roy Helu Jr RB - Helu is my pick to be the complimentary back to Moreno. He has a nice size/speed combo that I think will compliment Moreno very nicely.

6b. Owen Marecic FB - He can play FB and LB, so his versatility will get him noticed by McD. I know he is well liked on this board, and from what I've seen/ heard he is a real hammer at FB.

            7. Offensive Line depth- I don't know too much about late round OLiners, so I won't mock a specific player, but I think we could always use depth there.

So what do you guys think?

            • I'd love this just because of Fairley and Watt. I think Watt is a 1st rd pick, no doubt in my mind about that. According to CBSSports, Phil Taylor is now a 2nd rd prospect, with the arrow going up. It's all opinions so anything could happen.

I believe Watt will grade out as a first rounder, but I think he will drop into early 2nd because of all of the talent in the DLine ( I think Jordan and Heyward will both be picked before him in the late 1st).

                • The draft is definitely plausible but I think it's more likely that we see DJ dealt before Champ. That's not to say Champ won't be traded though. In fact, I probably wouldn't a complete overhaul of our defense. As good as Champ and DJ are, they haven't led us to a great defense the past few years. I think we need to tear it down and build around Dumervil.

Also with the way Quinn played Monday night Graham might be dealt for a lower round pick as well.

                    I thought that as well.

                    Definitely a bad mock draft.
                    My Teams This Season:
                    Wilson: 2-4
                    Oregon State: 1-5
                    Portland State: 3-3
                    Broncos: :helmet : 1-4

I didn't get to watch the game yet, does that last statement mean Quinn played well?:thumb:

Kyle orton is worth more than champ. I would say champ for a 3rd and orton for a second and a 4th.

Curtis Brown pick is good. I think we will trade champ and cox willstart wit someone we sign. Hopefully richard marshall or tramon williams or carlos rogers or johnathon joseph i think goody will be released or could be traded for like a swap of picks in the third or fourth.

I think the phil taylor pick right where it is is perfect. He is only rated by cbs as a second because they only list seniors. Not juniors.

Owen marecic is a solid pick as well from what i have heard. I have never watched him play but is he a bruising run blocking fullback cause thats what i want. I know he plays linebacker.

Mark Cant spell his last name would be a solid addition. I like him and steven friday. They are both good linebackers who I would love to see here.

                        I love mark barron.

Oh and if we got fairley and watt/ fairley and jordan / fairley and heyward I would love who ever drafted him. Heyward is more of a run defender but i would love any combination of these 4. I think it is a possibility that one of them will fall to the second. However i would have no problem of trading a second which will be between 32-40 and champ to trade to new england/baltimore for there first which will be between pick 26-32 to get the situation u have mocked.

Great mock. I wouldnt do it any differently.

He looked solid actually in the run game. He was physical

I'd poo my pants if we got Watt

I'd explosively poo my pants if we got both of them

                            • Why does everyone want to give

away the best players??? Orton is the only reason Denver has won three games so far. Give him a running game and some protection from the OL and he can lead Denver to the playoffs and beyond! It is not going to hurt Tebow to sit on the bench a couple more seasons.
What did Bailey do wrong. He is still the best CB on the roster! In the KC game he gave up some receptions but the defense was playing a semi-prevent defense and that was what he was told to do.
Orton, Clady, Champ and DJ are the core of this team! Do you want to dump them all and start with rookies in these positions?
I keep seeing the mock drafts, they trade away these players and draft no one to replace them until late rounds.

                              • Not to mention they have Cincinnati making the playoffs and they have a worse record than we do at 2-9.
