  • OG Cory Procter Available

    Cowboys released G/C Cory Procter.
Procter, 27, appeared in 12 games last season with no starts, though he did start 11 games the previous year at right guard in place of Kyle Kosier. Dallas couldn't find a trade partner, but Procter will get interest in free agency.

He would be a good addition since we have several linemen hurt and McChesney might end his career. The size and playing style fit our team perfectly. And he is just 27 years old.

I saw Sunday that they were trying to trade him at the same time saying they would release him Monday (not much leverage for trading). I am hoping we add him for some depth.

Maybe for depth, we could some better Tackle depth with Clady's injury.

We have Olsen/Beadles at LG, Kuper/Eric Olsen at RG..

We have 7 OTs + Ol Maurice Williams listed on our roster. Clady is out but Beadles is playing as a tackle. And we lost a guard after McChesney got hurt, leaving us with 4 guys + Russ Hochstein who is not practicing. I believe during this time of year teams like to have 3 sets of OL to practice.

We can call them long hair in the army. Ready to get cut. We already have Clady, Harris and Polumbus. With Beadles also playing tackle, I think there is no more room. 4 OTs, right? So, Chris Marinelli, Paul Duncan, D'Anthony Batiste and Maurice Williams will have a hard time making the final roster. Maybe Williams can make it as an extra backup until Clady returns. I don't think Polumbus will be outperformed by these guys.

... transpire that Marinelli is a better RT than Polumbus.

It might happen that two or more play better than Polumbus.

Time will tell. We shall see.

I could see this move for depth. Cant see him as starter material.

Former Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Cory Procter, whom Dallas released today, already is visiting the Denver Broncos.

Can't hurt to get him. I am pretty optimistic with the O-line. I still wish I could be more certain on the Defense though.
