The Seattle Seahawks have formally announced the release of running back LenDale White.
And this time they won't be taking it back.
"It became apparent at this time that LenDale was not ready to be a member of the Seattle Seahawks," Seahawks G.M. John Schneider said in the team's statement. "It just did not appear to be the right fit at this point in our program. We wish LenDale all the best with his future."
The Seahawks acquired White in a trade with the Tennessee Titans during the NFL draft, and it's not clear why the team decided to get rid of him a month later. Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, who also coached White at USC, had indicated that he was excited about being reunited with his old running back, and reports out of Seattle indicated that White was no longer struggling with his weight.
But whatever the reasons, White is now an unrestricted free agent, available to any team that wants him. We know the Titans and Seahawks don't.

He probably wants to be the starter. And Seattle has a crowded backfield. He might be in shape but he does not bring the kind of mentality McDaniels wants. White did not want to be CJ's backup anymore, so I guess he does not want to be anyone's backup. The problem is that I don't see a team signing him as a starter. Maybe the Lions will be interested in him since K. Smith is still injured and he can split carries with J. Best.

White, a four-year NFL veteran, has been a divisive force in the past. He often clashed with coaches in Tennessee and was questioned for his attitude, work ethic and willingness to take instruction. He also has struggled with weight issues, but he entered Seahawks workouts at 219 pounds and said this week that he planned to play at 228.Last edited by -Rod-; 05-28-2010, 02:22 PM.sigpic

Either way this would be a stupid pick up. The few things that Lendale does well are the things that #27 does well. Neither are break away guys, neither are great blitz pick up guys, neither are good in the open field.... So really all lendale would do is take carries away from #27 in the red zone. Which isn't a bad thing cause it would limit the punishment that #27 has to take.....But still just not worth the headacheThanx Blondie79 for the sweet Sig....Love it and I will rock it with pridesigpic

Your right....something is wrong, but look at it this way, our biggest problem was short yardage, I can think of 3 losses vividly(eagles, oakland, and washington) now lendale will help with that, he obviously has some work ethic, he lost 30 pounds just to compete with chris johnson, but look I think gameplan wise he help with a big PROVEN back(aimed at undrafted rookie tony baker) think of the future of tebow wit our new huge, but athletic line, on the goalline can you say wrecking ball? Lol
