    WEEK 14 at Arizona

Offensively, the team played rather well. Or, at least not poorly. Unfortunately, there were two meltdown performances and one of them was by the QB. Orton had a horrific (-4.8) overall grade, with a (-5.5) passing grade. Easily his worst grades of the season to this point. The other meltdown was by Daniel Graham, whom posted a (-2.8) overall, sucking equally at catching the ball and with his run blocking. At WR, everyone basically graded out around average. Richard Quinn got some playing time at TE (27 snaps) and put up a decent (+0.7) overall grade, led by his blocking. Moreno ran above average, but had poor marks for both pass and run blocking. On the O-line, Clady had a nice game (+3.7), as did Walton (+1.4) and Kuper (+1.6). Harris was decent, while Beadles brought up the rear with a below average (-0.7).

On defense, things were worse, of course. Starting with the D-line, Justin Bannan was the only player with a positive grade, and that was barely (+0.3). Vickerson and Williams checked in with a (-0.7) and (-1.0) respectively. Vickerson was ineffective with his pass rush, Williams just struggled all around. Ronald Fields was about the same grade, he struggled greatly in run defense. Thomas and McBean were the worst at (-1.9). Thomas had a penalty grade which caused some of that, McBean's grade was caused by being McBean. Both outside LBs were terrible, Ayers and Hunter. Ayers was never the same once he hurt his foot. Hunter just had a bad game, mostly due to poor pass rush and a penalty. Williams and Haggan were solid inside. The secondary all had good grades. Goodman led the way with a (+2.5), followed by Champ (+1.8), Hill (+1.6), Cox (+0.7), Jones (+0.7), Thompson (+0.6), Bruton (+0.4).

Thanks a lot MUG; it's greatly appreciated. I'm really excited to see how the front office addresses the front 3 in the draft, if it will even be called a front 3.

    • Week 16 against Houston

On offense, there was only one poor performance, and that was by Ryan Harris (-1.1). Harris gave up a QB hit and 3 pressures. There were several stellar games turned in. Lloyd had a (+3.5). Daniel Graham had a (+3.5) off solid blocking scores. He's been so inconsistent this year. Buckhalter turned in a season best (+3.3). Clady had an excellent (+2.4), only giving up one pressure. Finally, Gaffney had a very nice (+1.9) for his best grade of the year. Moreno, Decker, and Ball all had solid grades. Only Kuper and Tebow (-0.5) were graded below average of the remaining offensive players. Tebow had a low pass grade and a good run grade.

On defense, there were three stand out performances turned in by Bannan (+1.1), Jamal Williams (+1.4), and Cox (+1.7). Those three good performances were offset by the terrible performances of Haggan (-2.6), Woodyard (-3.3), DJ Williams (-2.7), Fields (-1.9), and Thomas (-1.7). That's a lot of poor play up the gut. Goodman logged a solid (+0.8), while Vickerson and McBean both performed poorly at (-1.0), which is actually superb for McBean. Jason Hunter, coming off a huge game, only played 10 snaps for some reason. Ayers (+0.2) was pretty solid in this one with 2 QB hits and a pressure.

      • Week 17 against San Diego

Offensively, we were pretty good. Chris Kuper had an epic meltdown (-4.6), giving up a sack, a hit, and 3 pressures, while Eric Decker and DeMaryius Thomas struggled (-1.0). But outside of those three, it was a nice showing. Tebow rebounded from the prior week to have the highest grade (+5.1). Lloyd followed him (+1.9), followed by Walton (+1.8), Buckhalter (+1.5), and Harris (+1.1). Everyone else basically played above average.

On defense, our starting front 7 played pretty well. Woodyard led the way with a (+3.1). Rebounding off his bad game the week before. Woodyard played TED, which is beyond strange to me, but he did well. Both Williams' played very well, as did Haggan. Ayers was very solid against the run, but showed nothing in terms of pass rush in this one. Vickerson had a terrible game (-3.3), all of which was due to run defense. Both Fields and McBean (-1.8) were terrible off the bench. Dawkins (+0.8) had a nice game, Nate Jones had a (+0.5). Hill and Thompson struggled in the secondary in this one (-1.4). Everyone else was average.

        • Thanks Mug for all the help this season. With all the grades and everything in I feel confident in my mock and propects chosen. I hope it goes this way.

I know Elway said we builr through the draft, so thats what we will do. With that said, we have a limited pool of picks so I think we should make a splash in FA as well. There is a good pool of YOUNG and talented guys we should target. Guys like Lewis, Harris, Hawthorne, Aso, Cofield, etc we should give a look at.

I agree, it was really strange to see Woodyard playing that position, and doing well at it too.

              • You know after viewing your stats (thanks MUG, amazing job) I really really really like Andre Goodman, he isn't the sexiest, but he can flat out cover. I also am impressed with Cox's Passes Defended. Syd'quan also looks to be a legitimate backup if not starter in the near future.

Our LBs are absolutely dreadful in coverage especially DJ, I thought he was much better.. meh.. but I am sure a lot of this is due to dismal pass rush.

                • Of course, like many I'm sure, I read Tebow and pretty much ignored everything else.

I'm impressed, he scored much better than I expected!

What are your thoughts on him MUG, do you think he can be effective at this level?
