If Denver is gets the #2 pick in the draft and Luck knows he'd be close to the best QB that ever played the game... Could he pull an Elway? And if Denver is interested in Harbaugh as the next HC... could make for an interesting start to 2011.

Could Luck pull an "Elway" and refuse to go to Carolina?

The only way I'd want Luck is if we get the #1 pick.RESTORE THE ORANGE CRUSH!!!!

Granted Eli Manning somehow pulled this stunt on the Chargers...Denver Broncos GM

Everyone Realizes Luck is a Junior Right?
i realize juniors declare ALL the time, and rarely sophomores (Crabtree), but everyone is clearly aware that Andrew Luck is a junior and will likely continue through his senior season to get his architect degree right?
why are there so many threads where people seem to think we have a shot at getting a QB that won't even be in the draft?
unless someone has some really reliable inside information that says he's going to declare for the Draft, all of these Luck threads are useless.
i also realize things could change and he could decide not to finish his degree (which would be stupid of him, since he stated he loves architecture), but right now we have no evidence that he will be coming into the 2011 Draft.
or maybe he'll decide to declare, get a giant First Overall Pick bonus and salary, then retire and finish his degree. *shrugs*.
what's more asinine than thinking we even have a shot at Luck unless Carolina all of a sudden improves two games on us (which could happen), is the idea that we would draft a #1 Overall Pick that is a Quarterback when we've already vested 1st Round money into Tebow and won't have any idea what we've got in him until he takes a full off-season's worth of first team reps.
don't get me wrong, Luck looks like he will be a great QB, but we could already have a great QB in Tebow... until Tebow proves otherwise, there's no reason to waste such a golden opportunity to attempt finding some help on defense.
*homer time* besides, if we're going to draft another QB again, i'd rather wait until 2012 and nab Moore, where we'd be more likely to obtain him as he probably won't even be in the first round.
also if Luck decides not to declare, other than all these threads being meaningless, we would be able to possibly still grab him in 2012 when he DOES declare. that is if we suck this bad again but i'd rather win more games than get a top 5 draft pick.

Because he's rated as the best QB prospect in a long time. In the NFL, you have to take advantage of the BEST situation that comes your way. There's plenty of guys that gave up a lot of money and draft status to have "the college experience". Guys like Matt Leinart, Jake Locker, Sam Bradford(he turned out fine, but still), etc. When you have the opportunity to be #1 and be the face of a franchise, you DON'T PASS IT UP!!!RESTORE THE ORANGE CRUSH!!!!

if the Raiders, Chargers or Chiefs were in line to nab me, i would stay in school to avoid ending up playing for them. that's a lot easier, and smarter and looks better than doing what Elway and Manning did...but if i had to, i would refuse to play for them and demand to be traded right away anyway.
but that's not the point of my thread, the point of my thread was to point out the dozens of threads about Luck as if everyone is so sure and certain he is actually going to be part of the 2011 Draft, and at this point it is not looking like he will be.sigpic

Luck would be an idiot to stay another year seeing as how he is almost a lock #1 pick and this is likely going to be the last un-capped year for rookie contracts. Meaning that if he came out next year he'd be losing a boat load of money. Plus it's not like he's going to accomplish much more at Stanford, seeing as how they are in a BCS game and the only thing better than that is the Championship game (which I don't see Stanford doing next year). All in all, I'd be very shocked if he didn't come out for this year's draft.
