So it seems like every "hot" prospect you guys are posting about aren't seniors

Nick Fairley- JR.
Patrick Peterson- JR
Andrew Luck- Sophmore.

Whose to say any of these guys come out?

I don't want Bowers seeing as how he's probably another Robert Ayers.

JJ Watts I don't trust either considering the last Watt(s) we had! (Darius Watts we drafted him in 2002 and he was a one year wonder)

So whose next on you're lists? Considering theres a lockout possibility I don't think the smart move is to come out now.

Watt is also a junior. As with Marcell Dareus.

At least 1 of them declare, there's no way none of them do lol. They all will if anything.

No need to worry about this stuff.

They have to declare before January 15th, so you will know within a week and 2 days who exactly is coming out for the draft. You just have to wait a bit longer and the picture becomes clear.

I would think all these guys want to jump into the draft and try to get a contract before a rookie pay scale is implemented.

It would also be smart of them to come out in a great statistical year so their value doesn't drop if they can't do it 2 years in a row.

2. Cameron Jordan - CAL

2 good Linemen and I think they should be able to get them both however if Da'Quan Bowers is still around in the 2nd get him.

many juniors that have made one or a few good seasons of college football choose to declare for the draft after their junior year due to the risk of getting injured or hurting their draft stock in other ways.

I think the rule says they can´t play in NFL until atleast 3 years have passed since they left highschool, hence a few redshirt sophomores can also declare for the draft, but declaring for the draft removes their eligibility for playing college football.

I see Nick Fairley as a bust by deffinition, I think he'll make a good lineman yes, but people seem to think he's going to come out and get 30 sacks his first year and I just don't see it, and for a first rounder I want to see Michael Lewis not Courtney Brown (remember him?)

Bowers declared last night - he may be our pick at #2 over Fairly. I would like Bowers/Fairly in the first and Jordan/Heyward in the second. No way Bowers falls out of top 10 (well... unless he bombs the offseason workouts or ends up in jail).

The draft will happen.
The contract will be expired.
There WILL be a new contract in place, WITH a rookie cap...
BEFORE any drfated rookie signs his deal.

Like... if Luck declares.. and makes a deal with Carolina..
they can draft him... but they can't ink him to a deal until AFTER
the New contract between Owners and Players.

That is how I understand it.

That is why it is not as attractive now to trade down.
In the old days.. a team would trade down so they would not have to pay sick money for a high pick prospect...
but now... the cap will make signing a #2 pick a reasonable amount.
