  • Robert Quinn

I really hope we trade down a dew spots and take Quinn instead of Fairley and Bowers.

If we did this we would not only get the best DE in the draft, but we would also pick up an extra pick.

    Thoughts??

If we stay 3-4, he will be moved OLB. We don't need a OLB right now, specially when Doom gets back.

Quinn would be great in a 4-3. Just depends what direction we go. I am a fan of the 3-4, but only when you have dominant players that fit exactly in position. With that said, I think with the players in the upcoming draft and our current players, we would benefit to revert back to the 4-3.
Several reasons. With more teams still switching to 3-4, there will be more 4-3 talent available in draft, free agency, or trade. If you are going to a 3-4, a dominant NT is needed. If your nose tackle is average the 3-4 is weak right there. A dominant NT will constantly dominate a 2-gap and at times even draw the other guard to have to block him. We do not have a good enough NT. There are a few NT's in the draft but are they going to be good enough now as a rookie and even later on?

We need immediate impact. The players in this draft that are going to be dominant are best suited for 4-3 ; with some exceptions. Dumerville is probably the best thing about the 3-4 for us. However, he will still get to the QB as an end. I think Robert Ayers will be the one to take off if we switch back. Sure, he has been improving as an OLB but put him where he was intended to be with his hand down and he should get 8-12 sacks per year. Then we draft fairley, dareus, or quinn. Fairley or Dareus would be good DT's or Quinn could rotate with ayers and dumerville. Look what the giants have done with their ends. They have 4 very good to excellent ends in their 4-3. Just a thought for us this year. Keep bailey. Mathieu looked better than Peterson anyway, in the game last night against Texas A+M. We do need D-Line and a defensive coach that knows how to use our players.

Quinn is a total stud, and I would love to have him on our team. That being said, I would prefer to pick up Fairley or Dareus to be the DT if we run a 4-3, because good 4-3 dt's are really hard to come by.

Quinn is fast becoming my ideal pick at #2. Regardless of scheme, I think he has all pro potential. Too many fans worry about Doom or Ayers not getting to play 100% of the time...really? Having a 3 man rotation at DE or OLB is a good thing...contant pressure on QBs.

          R Ayers - B Cofield - A Haynesworth - CJ ohnson
          J Anderson - J Beason - DJ Williams
          R Bailey - P Amukamara - R Hill - A Goodman

The Broncos 3-4 OLBs are fine.

We would lose him if we traded down. He is better than Bowers, and I'm sure that I am not the only person who believes so. If you want Quinn you do it at #2.

Quinn is easily better than Bowers, but Quinn won't be drafted till 6 at the earliest. Bowers hype machine is a great athlete, who will have a monster combine.

The Broncos will trade down, probably more than once, with the first trade being with Dallas, who will look to make a splash....

                  you heard it here first

I guarantee Quinn will have more sacks than Bowers over his career, its so stupid how people completely forget about how good he is just because he missed a year.

Maybe, but you can never have enough pass rushers, and Quinn might be the best pure pass rusher to come down the alley in a while..and at 6'4"-267 or so, that is a prototype stud pass rusher

                        No, I've heard it before.

I'm simply jesting. I have however heard that they would probably be interested in trading up to take Peterson.

AND... if we hite John Fox as HC, or even DC, and decide to revert back to the 4-3... Quinn/Bowers def. in play.

If Fewell, Fox, or Rico gets the gig, I really think we go 4-3. Most HC's will not role the dice on a scheme they are unfamiliar with. In this scenario Quinn makes a ton of sense, could be a Freeny & Mathis combo.

As a side thought, Ayers could go back to his orignal weight and play some nickel DT...think about those three coming after the QB on third downs

                            R Ayers - B Cofield - A Haynesworth - CJ ohnson
                            J Anderson - J Beason - DJ Williams

                              Thats true.

But OLB isnt a need and the Broncos should use picks to fill holes first. Plus, adding another 1st round OLB in two straight years when there are already 2 starters there is just, dumb.
