If we hire Fox, I hope we get James Anderson, Ryan Khalil and DeAngelo Williams.

Cedric Benson may end up being cheap to but honestly I am not to sold on him. Ild much rather have Michael Bush if White isnt up to par. Held be great on short yardage. However if thats the case Payne in UDFA is a steam roller. Or better yet add some weight to Brandon Saine and he is dangerous. Another guy I like is Vai Taua who reminds me of Javon Ringer but not as injury plagued

Exactly that is why the Texans situation could be more attractive than coming to rebuilding Denver with a rookie at QB.

If Dennison is hired, I could see us signing Derrick Ward away from Houston

...and let's face it, with the success of James Starks today, as well as that of BenJarvis Green-Ellis, Peyton Hillis and LeGarrette Blount, you can get productive backs in the later part of the draft

I suspect Williams is going to be more expensive than I would be willing to pay

Not bad, if we could replace Ball with a change of pace back it might be nice.
There are some guys in the draft and FA that could offer that like Sproles or Murray or Quizz Rodgers.
IMO Locke is a Sproles type back and as of now his stock is fairely low. If we cant get him in the 6th or have other needs there are plenty of speedy guys in UDFA

Williams left early this year. His numbers can't really mean much. Dude scored 18 touchdowns in 2008 and rushed for 1,500 plus.

Sure, if somebody throws a bag of money at him, pass. But I think he's the best running back to hit the free agent market, in his prime, in a long time.
Im saying Moreno isnt as bad as people are making him out to be. No he wiill never be as good in the open field as McCoy, but for a team having trouble getting RB's off the line he has done well.

Hes even played with bruised ribs for several games, and in the last half 8 games did you know hes averaged 5 ypc. That and its possible he could have a breakout year next year. His biggest issue is we continue to use him on goal line and short yardage situations which has caused him to get hurt and honestly shortened his production. For those that want to get rid of him I will say this he is the 2nd highest scorer on our team that may not be great but its important to a team with so few TD's.

Sure Ild want Williams but not for the price tag the OP gave. With all the money we will owe due to mass cuts and the major face lift needed that salary cap could close in faster then yould think. If he can replace Buckhalter as the backup then held be a great pick up.

I'd have to disagree. Stats are important and can be persuasive up to a point, sure (even if I'm not sure I agree with how you're presenting the stats), but my conclusion that Moreno has not shown explosiveness at NFL level is simply from watching both RBs play. Moreno hasn't been "explosive" nor has he been a game-changer.

Williams is more of a threat, breaks bigger and more decisive runs. Moreno is good for a few yards on a consistent basis and will occasionally rumble for ten to fifteen. It's no knock on Moreno, he's a good RB and still fresh, however adding DeAngelo if he's available at a relatively reasonable price tag can only be a positive thing.

Williams/Moreno would be a pretty awesome tandem working behind Tebow.

    Just my opinion.

signing Williams would be a very smart move when hes healthy hes one of the top backs in the league. it would be worth the investment in my opinion. he has a big play ability not really found in moreno making him a great compliment.

It could be a possibility. John Fox knows better than anyone that it takes a stable of RBs in order to get through a season. He will know it all too well if he comes here and sees Moreno/Buck/White sitting there expecting to get carries.

DeAngelo Hall makes sense as a guy we could pair with Moreno and really take the burden off Tebow so that he could simply lead our team and not have to carry the team on his shoulders. Of course, that would also require a lot better OL play.

RBs like DeAngelo Williams don't come to be free agents often, so it would at least be advantageous to kick the tires and find out if he in any way could make sense in a monetary sense.
