  • If Ron Meeks comes in...

Don't be suprised at all if we go after a defensive end early in the draft. His defenses rely heavily on pressure from D-ends, and you've got to think there's concerns about Ayers as DE again, Doom coming back from injury plus his issues against run, etc.

Will be very interesting to see who is hired on his staff. Will there be any McDaniel's holdovers or will it be a clean sweep?

    Thx,
    Joe

Idk but Fox's and Meek's defenses were so reliant on great defensive ends rushing the passer (Peppers, Freeney, Mathis, Rucker), and I just don't see them being comfortable with Ayers, who has spent the last two years slowly learning to be a 3-4 OLB, and with Doom coming back with his injury and his concerns vs. the run. I feel like if Fairley goes 1 then we could trade back and get Quinn or Watt and perhaps Aldon smith in 2nd.

Hard to tell. I imagine he'll want to bring with him a few of the guys he had in carolina but as well keep some of the guys here like studesville and mccoy but who really knows.

If they switch back to a 4-3, a DE is an absolute necessity. All they have is DOOM and Ayers. Hunter maybe. There are some good ones coming out though which is nice. Bowers, Kerrigan, Quinn, Beal, Acho, Jordan, Elmore, Reed are all guys I would like to have at DE.

              Watt?
I don't think they would pass on someone like Fairley for Watt. PP is all up to opinion, mine being at this point hes not worth the #2 for the denver broncos.

I think the only one that might be around is McCoy because of the fact that they worked together in Carolina (he was Fox's QB Coach).

Ron Meeks coaches the cover-2 version of the 4-3, a defense that is as predictable a defense as there is these days.

Manning and Brady LOVE to play that defense.

Meeks' defenses have never been great...

He is the obvious choice for DC now, though

Frustrating the main thieng i love about Pitts and a few other defenses is preditablity. However we dont have the make up of a 3-4... I was encouraged with Wink the last two games his ability to scheme pressure... im almost cool with him coming back year ... only if Fox doesnt try and limit blitzing i hear fox likes to play a cover defense however i could be wrong .... i dont get to see hardly any carolina games

A 4-3 D line of Ayers, Fairley, Thomas, and Doom sounds beastley to me. Thomas was a beast in the 4-3 set.

Thomas is better suited for a 4-3 however to say he was beastly i would dissaggree on. i see UT as a better ft for thomas.i think he is a gap splitter not a gap holder. I like vickerson better as the NT in a 4-3 set

Well since both are FAs, lets hope we sign someone better than both, right?

                          R Ayers - B Cofield - A Haynesworth - CJ ohnson
                          J Anderson - J Beason - DJ Williams
                          R Bailey - P Amukamara - R Hill - A Goodman

It never is a team to try adn find upgrades. I dont know if there are any upgrades in FA that wont be tendeerd... My biggest thing is Denver has to get back to drafting right and hitting on players with their picks
