  • Orton's trade value

What a deal for both clubs.

Cardinals get a guarenteed good QB for their good receiving corp.
    Ortin starts immediately.
Fitzgerald get as many catches as Loyd did.
Ortin continues to look exceptional while having an NFL HOF receiver.

    Docket is an immediate impact.
Broncos get set with Doom, Docket, and Ayers.
    Draft/FA can focus on secondary/LBs.
Cap is minimlly effected. (Go after $$$$$ Namdi Asomouh (SP))

    Both teams come out ahead!!

    Sounds good to me!!!
    This is the NFL!!

    Don't sing it... Bring It!!!!!

    Go Broncos!!!!!!!

no way the cards trade Dockett for Orton, they would just pick up Mcnabb if they wanted a veteran QB.
if man is 5 and jay cutler is 6 then that must make john elway 7

It's a nice thought, but there's no way the Cardinals are going to part with one of the anchors of their defense for a game manager.

Word throughout Sports Radio all this week is that Orton is unlikely to go for more than a third,so it should be interesting to see if we can bait somebody into giving up a second for him.

At the risk of sounding petty, how is it that you misspell the last name of not one, but two starting members of your favorite team?

What guaranteed good QB are the Cards getting?

I'd crap my pants if that happened, doubt it happens though.

I'll take a 3rd for Orton, and move on.

If Denver gets a second for Orton I would be very happy with that. I think it is more likely Denver gets a high 3rd, which is still good IMO

It'd be a great trade, but I doubt it happens. Can't trade players until there's a new CBA in place anyways. Also... It's OrtOn

That would be awesome if it happened, but I highly doubt it goes through.

                      We can always dream though.

I think it more likely we move to the 4-3 and draft Fairley. The line would look something like:

                      Starters: Ayers - Vickerson/Bannan - Fairley - Doom (pass downs)/Vickerson (run downs)

                      Backups: Thomas - Vickerson/Bannan - Fields/FA - Hunter

I think Vickerson will end up being a very versatile guy on D and one of the best pickups we made last season.

McBean will probably get the boot.

agree. might as well cut our losses, get atleast something decent for him.
but i also wouldnt be opposed to Orton and a 2nd for dockett

While he doesnt ever seem to be respected by fans, Orton is fairly well respected by executives and coaches in the NFL. And there are ALOT of teams in desperate need for the QB.

Considering how badly Seattle overpaid for Charlie Whitehurst last year, Im sure we can get a decent pick for Orton. He would be an immediate starter for quite a few franchises.
