This mock will have a CBA, mostly because these aren't much fun to do with out one.
Free Agents;
Champ Bailey-Franchised
Ryan Harris- a medium sized deal about 2 to 3 years
Marcus Thomas- a small deal about 3 to 4 years
OG/OT Ryan Cook- a small deal with 3 years
OG John Greco- a small deal 2 to 3 years
SLB James Anderson- a medium deal 5 to 6 years
FS George Wilson- a medium deal with 3 to 4 years
FB John Karney- a small deal with 2 to 3 years
Trade;
Kyle Orton to the Titans for their third and fifth round picks.
Draft;
Cam Newton blows up the combine, and many teams are interested in his dual threat capabilities. Buffalo isn't going to let a team jump in front of them again and snag their player, so they trade their first (3), third, and fifth round picks. Cleveland sees there chance to get an elite WR threat, and trades their First and 2012 second for our First. Patrick Peterson drops (Cinci resigns Joseph and drafts Bowers, Arizona drafts Von Miller to address the pass rush) so Jerry Jones hoping for the next Deon trades up and gives up their first and third round picks.
Current Picks:
1st
Two 2nds
Four 3rds
Two 5ths
6th
7th
With the 9th pick we (finally) select Defensive End Ryan Kerrigan, Purdue;
Kerrigan is a beast against the run and pass, he is an elite football player. He won't go as high as he should because he won't measure well. Kerrigan is a football player through and through, he reminds me of a young Jarrad Allen who once said, how many times are you going to see a defensive end running 40 yards down the field.
In the second, we pick Under Tackle Stephen Paea, Oregon St
Paea would be a much higher pick, but he tore his lateral meniscus in his left knee. Paea is a hard working guy who gives 110% effort on every play. He is a great penetrator and can make difference in pass rushing and run stopping.
With our next second round pick, Safety Quinton Carter, Oklahoma;
Carter is great in coverage and can actually cover tight ends, he isn't afraid to hit somebody either and can learn from Dawkins.
In the third, we pick ILB Greg Jones, Michigan St;
Jones is a great leader and can play inside or out. His stock has slipped after a poor senior bowl, but he showed what kind of player he could be in college.
With our next pick we get a guy to spell Knowshon with RB Delone Carter, Syracuse;
Carter is best utilized in a one cut zone blocking scheme. We happen to be moving to a zone. Carter is a tough back who has drawn comparisons to Marion Barber, we could use that kind of back.
Still in the third, we select CB Davon House, Utah;
House is undersized, but has elite coverage skills. Capable of starting in this league right away, will do a lot better with limited action early on.
With our last pick of the day, we pick Nose Tackle Ian Williams, Notre Dame;
Williams is a remarkable athlete at 311 pounds, he is the most athletic nose tackle in the draft and has the versatility to play in the 3-4 or 4-3.
In the Fifth, we select Tight End Zack Pinalto, North Carolina
Pinalto is a determined, hard working Tight End with a mean streak. He is a good blocker and solid receiver. Has durability concerns.
With our next pick we get some depth and pick up OT Chris Hairston, Clemson;
Hairston has some potential and can be a good back up in the mean time.
In the Sixth, we pick up OLB Doug Hougue, Syracuse;
Hougue has a lot of upside and can be a good special teams player in the mean time.
With our last pick, we pick up OLB Adrian Moten, Maryland;
Moten has some athleticism, and has some potential late in the draft.
QB Tebow, Quinn
RB Moreno/Carter, White, Ball
FB Karney
WR Lloyd, Royal, Willis
WR Gaffney/Decker, Thomas (pup)
TE Gronkowski/Quinn/Pinalto
LT Clady, Hairston
LG Beadles, Greco
C Walton, Olsen
RG Kuper, Cook
RT Harris, Cook
LE Ayers, Hunter
UT Paea, Thomas
NT Bannan/I. Williams
RE Kerrigan/Doom
SLB Anderson, Hougue
MLB Jones/Mays
WLB DJ Williams/Woodyard, Moten
CB Champ, Cox, Thompson
CB Goodman, House, Vaughn
FS Wilson/McBath
SS Dawkins/Carter, Bruton
K Prater
P Colquitt
KR/PR Vaughn
/ indicates heavy time share or preseason competition.
Thoughts? I know this was a little bit trade happy, so lay off with those comments.
