We'll see what happens. I doubt we really spend big after the Bailey deal, but I do think DeAngelo is a very real possibility.

Comes across as a bit of an A.J. Smith type in a different role if you ask me
There haven't been any confirmed reports of JR actually being "condescending". Brees said it was blown out of proportion, I would trust him over Jay Feely considering Feely wasn't even in the room. Brees could just be trying to calm things down and be the bigger man. Richardson doesn't come across as very patient with this issue. But I doubt he's being grumpy just for the hell of it.

If he was truly causing damage I don't think he would be co-chairman of these negotiations. He's one of the few owners that have played in the league.

      As for being cheap...

He was paying fox 6.5 million in Carolina. Fox isn't making nearly that much in Denver. So I guess the Broncos are now cheaper than the Panthers

They just tagged Ryan Kalil which is only the 2nd time in league history a center has gotten the tag. He's also the highest paid center in the league now.

He gave Jordan Gross and Chris Gamble very lucrative contracts in 2009. He tried to make Julius Peppers the highest paid defender in the league twice. When Peppers wanted to leave they franchised him at 17 million for that year alone.

The panthers had the 2nd highest cap figure in 2009.

2010 rolls around. JR has given up on Fox, a lockout is looming in 2011, and he has many younger players who's contracts expire in 2011. These players must be pretty good considering how everybody on this board is drooling all over them. It's not hard to see why they chose 2010 as a rebuilding year.

Calling him cheap is just plain ignorant.

We have still had one of the lowest caps in the NFL with champ anyway plus he made more last year so we will have plenty of room to spend even if they do bring in a cap

DeAngelo Williams, James Anderson, Charles Johnson (who I wanted out of georgia in the first place)=yes please. make it happen and hit on a few important draft picks (DT much?) and we could surprise people next year.

If the Broncos want to win they need to sign Williams and Johnson I'm cereal here.

I could also see them taking someone like Dareus at #2 because the addition of Charles Johnson wold give us some good depth at DE.

I chose Dareus assuming that Fairley goes #1

              Oh and of course..

              Start Tebow.

Maybe if he brought in players like Vince Wilfork and Logan Mankins we wouldn't criticise but we Russ, Maroney, and Le Kevin Smith.

Both players are apparently being offered tenders as restricted free agents. Neither player yet has 6 years in which is the standard right now, based on the 2010 season. Of course that could all change based on what happens when the CBA is reached (free agency likely to go back to 4 years) but like the use of the franchise tag this year, the Panthers are going to be prudent just in case.

Hopefully the Broncos do the same thing with Ryan Harris.

I want Johnson & Anderson not DW. W/Anderson and Johnson it'll help get our D back on track. Then our draft will be much easier.
