As for Bowers, not impressed. Reminds me a lot of Jarvis Moss, SPEED, dont really see him use many techinques to get around tackles. And remember the ACC is not the greatest division right now.

My guess is Ayers and Doom will play the same spot. Run downs we play Ayers, pass downs we play Doom.

That is how the 4-3 and situational players work.

If we can add a Pro Bowl DE to that mix who can defend both then we are golden...except for the fact we pay Doom a ton of cash. The same amount of guarenteed money as Peppers.

      On the main site ...

... they had highlights entitled "Top Five Defensive Plays" or something like that.

Jason Hunter was featured on two or three of them. He was disruptive on occasion last year.

      Kevin Vickerson was also disruptive.

There were times last year when D made a big play followed by the O getting a 1st down on a big play. Sometimes D just couldn't follow up on their good defensive plays.

Lack of consistency more than anything else kept them on the field.

I will find it interesting to see how Hunter, Vickerson, Ayers, Haggan, DJ and everyone else pans out in the new D.

His play suits the position though. Plus he playe DE in the 4-3 this year when we played the 4-3. He would obviously rotate aswell

I think you are on themoney here... But if Bowers is twice the player Ayers is... he is still a bust, cause ayers flat out sucks

Fox, when asked what he thought of Ayers and how he fit in with his defensive scheme, "I saw him [Ayers] as a 4-3 defensive end. We've got him penciled in as a defensive end. I have the utmost confidence that he'll be a productive player for us this season."

Fox is good at getting the most out of d-linemen. I think this is good news for Ayers and it sounds we'll be taking a DT with our pick
