OMG Locker to Denver? Really?

I don't think so. If it were a smokescreen we'd be bringing in Mallet, Newton, and Gabbert as well. The fact we're targeting Locker specifically gets rid of the notion that it is a smokescreen.

Maybe this is a page out of the Broncos draft strategy of old. Draft players you don't work out, and work out players that other teams want.

I'm not saying we would. I'm saying if it were a smokescreen then we'd bring in Newton and Gabbert so someone would maybe were somewhat interested in them and they'd try to trade up to the 2nd overall to get their guy.

But, you don't draft a back-up with your 2nd round pick after you spend a 1st round pick on another QB, do you? Especially when you have a defense like ours.

It's called doing your homework. If you really like a prospect, you take a close look at him. You never know how things will play out on draft day.

This idea that you only look at guys who fill an immediate need is very short sighted. If you thought some WR who was projected to be a mid-rounder had what it took to be a star at the next level, would you really pass on taking that second look just because you already had a decent WR corps?

Maybe the fo know they have a trade partner for Tebow with a middle to late round pick.I know that no trades can happen with the cba not in place, but do you think it could be possible that they have a commitment from another team?

Smokescreens, they can't justify taking a QB that high with Tebow on the roster. Tebow is there top ticket and jersey seller. If they do take a QB it would be through FA or in the later rounds.

I agree. I think this would be an ideal scenario for the FO. Draft an impact defensive player at #2 and if a good QB prospect fell to #36, I think that they will take them then as opposed to taking them #2 or in the 1st round.
