One AFC West scout "significantly upgraded" Arizona DE Brooks Reed's draft grade after watching him play in person against Iowa.
Reed tormented highly regarded Hawkeyes left tackle Riley Reiff throughout that game, racking up an absurd five quarterback pressures, four QB hits, 3.5 tackles, and 2.5 sacks. It was probably Reed's best game of the season. He did it all playing from a three-point stance, but is expected to be an outside linebacker playing in a two-point stance at the next level.

University of Arizona outside linebacker-defensive end Brooks Reed is rising on NFL draft boards, according to league sources with knowledge of the situation.
Initially regarded as a second-round draft selection, he's now entering the first-round conversation and has been linked to the Green Bay Packers' 32nd overall selection in recent mock drafts.
Reed has been drawing comparions to Packers star linebacker Clay Matthews for reasons beyond having long blond hair.
Reed had the top 10-yard split among all defensive lineman with a 1.54 clocking. Like Matthews, he's also regarded as a former Pac-10 player who moved up considerably as a senior.
Reed operated in a three-man rotation with another top pass rusher, Ricky Elmore, who recorded 11 sacks, and D'Aundre Reed.
Reed had a sprained ankle during his junior season.
An AFC West scout said he significantly upgraded his grade on Reed after watching him play against Iowa in person.
The nearly 6-foot-3, 263-pounder recorded 47 tackles, 6 1/2 sacks and 10 tackles for losses last season.
For his career, the All-Pac 10 Conference selection registered 114 career tackles and 17 sacks.
At the NFL scouting combine, Reed ran the 40-yard dash in 4.65 seconds, bench pressed 225 pounds 30 times. He also posted a 30 1/2 inch vertical leap and a 9-5 broad jump.

Any idea which team? 25% chance your guess is right? I say SD or KC, b/c they run the 3-4. BUT, could DEN be looking at him?
One of our possible 2nd round targets looks to be off the board now:
According to Sporting News' Russ Lande, Illinois' Corey Liuget has emerged as an "elite" defensive tackle prospect behind only Marcell Dareus and Nick Fairley in the 2011 draft class.
Lande described Liuget's Pro Day as "great," and CBS Sports' Rob Rang echoes the sentiment. One longtime scout characterized the session as "one of the best workouts I've ever seen from a defensive lineman." Per Rang, Liuget displayed "great explosiveness, hip flexibility, and quick feet." Added one scout "I'm not sure (Liuget) broke a sweat." Liuget will be in the first round of our next mock draft. He hadn't been to this point.
And another one might have slipped a bit:
Illinois ILB Martez Wilson struggled at the Fighting Illini Pro Day according to multiple accounts.
Wilson demonstrated "stiffness," according to Sporting News' Russ Lande, and CBS Sports' Rob Rang heard even more scathing reviews. "Everyone left that workout disappointed with him," said one scout. "His footwork was bad, his hands were bad, even his countenance was bad. ... He didn't look like he wanted to be there." This won't ease concern that Wilson was a workout wonder at the Combine, running the fastest forty among linebackers.

Not sure what this has to do with anything... But I was hoping to get a player like Reed with our 3rd round pick. Maybe now we get lucky and Wilson or Jones falls to us in the 3rd.
Any chance we get Liuget in the 2nd? Or should we look at Reed?
