I love how people bring up Xanders' comments like that was set in stone, guess that'd couldn't be everyone's favorite word huh? This is getting comical. Honestly. Simple minded huh?

Let me try to break down how you guys are being right now.

Your favorite market is fruit shopping.... Okay?

The market has already has some fruit, namely mangos. That's were left behind by the previous ownership. And you see the current ownership, doesn't really want the former ownership's bad products.

So your market ( with it's limited time) schedules visits with all the top fruit farmers.

It schedules visits with

1 apple farmer

2 pineapple farmers

And 6 mango farmers

most are upset by their decision.

Because as I stated, they already have mangos. And accepting the truth, can be hard.

So instead of being reasonable, they instead lie to themselves with blatently false statements.

Such as " I heard that we're gonna trade the right to choose the 2nd best farm for $50,000,000".

.........Even though it never happens.

Lets break this down for the simple minded. Xanders made it clear that he wants 3-4 picks to be immediate starters. Right now, we don't have enough picks to realistically achieve that. Here's the thing, there's alot of teams who need a QB, however, the top prospects likely wont make it to their spot in the draft. This is where things get good for us. We're sitting at #2. Technically we could even move down 5 spots, still get the guy we want, and get an extra high round pick. It's a win win situation. However, we need to be able to convince the teams in need that their guy wont make it past the #2 pick. Luckily, we're primed to make this head-fake, because there's already rumblings that our new F.O. isn't crazy about Tebow, so lets look at ALL of the quarterback prospects we can to make it LOOK more, and more like we're interested in a quarterback, so really, we can create a bidding war for our number 2 pick, possibly get another 2nd rounder, and still get the guy we want in the first. Its smart football, and in order to execute the new draft plan the new F.O. wants, we need more picks. The fake seems to be working on the fans, hopefully its working on the QB needy ams too.

If Tim Tebow was in this draft, he would've been no.1 overall. We're not going to take a QB in this class, to replace a guy who would've been the best.

Gabbert and Newton having nothing on Tebow. Locker maybe, but he's supposedly a 2nd round prospect so we're sure as hell not taking him that high.

If Carolina does take Gabbert or Newton 1st overall, they won't be selecting a QB next year. That means They would pass on Luck next year and he would be all ours. I'm thinking about this draft based on what Xanders and Fox said. Get 4 starters with the first 4 picks. Best players available for positions of need. If they take a QB that early, it would not be a backup. It would be the starting QB for the new regime. Probably in the 1st or 2nd round. With Orton, Tebow and Quinn on the roster, and so many needs, I can't see a draft pick being spent on a QB. But hey, I also did not expect McDaniels to draft Tebow when Orton, Quinn and Brandstater were on the roster.

I'm now persuaded they are looking at taking a quarterback.

I am not persuaded that they are going to take a quarterback at the #2 pick. I think they are thinking backup for Tebow, or possible replacement if he turns out to be better than Tebow.

But to evaluate the position for a pick in the top 3 rounds, you have to do your "due diligence" and look at all of them. John Fox has experience with Clausen falling all the way to the second round, and I don't think his team had given enough consideration to what they would do.

Similarly, Colt McCoy fell all the way to the 3rd round. So if you're thinking quarterback at all, you have to look at all of them.

But I do believe using that #2 pick on a quarterback would be idiotic. And I don't think Elway and Fox are idiots. Ergo, I conclude they are not planning to do that.

I could definitely see them taking Kapernik in the 3rd. He has tremendous upside. I just don't think he'll fall that far. Who knows, one of those guys might, and he's the most likely to.

I also like the idea of Dalton in the 3rd. He'd be an excellent back up, IMO.

You have a mock out, and you have Gabbert going #1. Explain to me why Gabbert makes sense there, but Denver shouldn't look at QB's. Unlike us, Carolina DOES need a QB. They had the worst passing offense in the NFL last season. I still think it isn't a lock Gabbert is going there, but it's possible. We were the worst 2 teams last year, both have new coaches, both teams spent a high pick on a QB just last year. Our defense was god-awful, our run game was god-awful, our run blocking was god-awful, and we were very badly coached. That's why McDaniels got fired. The situations are nearly identical. You guys have to face it. We're doing wha teams do, we're looking at draft prospects. I'm willing to bet $400 that we won't draft a QB in the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd round. Does it really make much sense to take Cam Newton or Gabbert? Newton's situation was very similar to Tebow's coming out of college. National champion, winner, hard work, questionable mechanics. Why on earth would we dump Tebow for someone that's very similar? And we're looking more closely at prospects we like. You're probably fooled then. Look at this list of prospects that Denver has scheduled workouts with( I may be missing 1 or 2)

Gabbert (he's possibly going 1st overall)
Bailey He's going in the 2nd
Peterson As much as I don't want Peterson, and would like to draft a DT like Dareus, I'd take him over a QB anyday
Ponder second round. Some team who missed out on a QB in the first might want to trade up for him
Murray I'm happy about this
Locker I love Locker's potential, but we're not gonna draft him. IMO, only way we can is if we reach for him at 2nd overall. He won't be available at 36.

We're not looking 6 deep at QB's to try and "fool" other teams. We have spent more time evaluating the QB position then any other position. By a big margin. We won't trade back, the pick at #2 isn't getting traded. It NEVER happens, and I'm sure our FO is smart enough to know that. What were likely doing (considering our extra 2nd) is evaluating late 1 prospects, because we'll have an easier time trading up then most other teams. I just absolutely do not get how people ignore what is right in front of them.

The Denver Broncos' front office is doing a horrible job if we're actually spending this much time just trying to "fool" other teams. After QB, the next highest evaluated position is what? DT? With 2? We're looking at 6 QB's....6. It may not be popular, but it's clearly what we're doing.

If we're not trying to fool other teams, then why else are we looking at the QB'S? Pick number 2 won't be easy to trade, but I think it could be possible. It also sends a message saying to the teams interested in a QB (like Arizona or Tennessee) that there's no guarantee their guy (Newton or Gabbert) will be available when they pick unless they trade up to 2nd overall.

The fans love Tebow and it would run Elway's legacy if he traded Tim and either kept Orton to start, or got someone else. (Unless it's someone like Aaron Rodgers.)

Plus, why we we also looking at Colin Kaepernick, Jake Locker, and Christian Ponder? Both Kaepernick and Ponder will be second rounders. Maybe Locker too. It will be hells lot easier to trade down from the 36th spot to like 40 or something than it would from 2nd overall. Maybe get a low 3rd or 4th.
