That would also explain why we're "looking" at Locker, Ponder, and Kaepernick. With the exception of Locker, they're going to be drafted 2nd round. They trade up ahead of us to take them so we "don't". It would make last year when we traded a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th for Tebow look like one of our dumbest moves ever.

I'd even bet $400 that the Broncos will NOT draft a QB in rounds 1, 2, or 3. Maybe later in the draft.

We're not looking 6 deep at QB's to try and "fool" other teams. We have spent more time evaluating the QB position then any other position. By a big margin. We won't trade back, the pick at #2 isn't getting traded. It NEVER happens, and I'm sure our FO is smart enough to know that. What were likely doing (considering our extra 2nd) is evaluating late 1 prospects, because we'll have an easier time trading up then most other teams. I just absolutely do not get how people ignore what is right in front of them.

The Denver Broncos' front office is doing a horrible job if we're actually spending this much time just trying to "fool" other teams. After QB, the next highest evaluated position is what? DT? With 2? We're looking at 6 QB's....6. It may not be popular, but it's clearly what we're doing.

I'm now persuaded they are looking at taking a quarterback.

I am not persuaded that they are going to take a quarterback at the #2 pick. I think they are thinking backup for Tebow, or possible replacement if he turns out to be better than Tebow.

But to evaluate the position for a pick in the top 3 rounds, you have to do your "due diligence" and look at all of them. John Fox has experience with Clausen falling all the way to the second round, and I don't think his team had given enough consideration to what they would do.

Similarly, Colt McCoy fell all the way to the 3rd round. So if you're thinking quarterback at all, you have to look at all of them.

But I do believe using that #2 pick on a quarterback would be idiotic. And I don't think Elway and Fox are idiots. Ergo, I conclude they are not planning to do that.

Definantly a smokescreen, we aren't taking a Qb in the first 3 rounds. I think its pretty obvious we are taking DT with the #2 or trade back little back and taking one. From my point of view John Fox wants to rebuild through a youth movement on the DL (hence releasing veterans) and only having 1 DT on the roster.

I actually think you can schedule more then 12 visits this year. Bur really nonetheless, we've shown serious interest in 6.......6 QB's. We've shown far more interest in QB's then any other position, and it's not even close. The writing is on the wall.

Absolute denial. We've looked at the QB position more then any other in this draft. 6 QB's..... Projected to go in 3 different rounds. If you honestly still somehow believe we're not actively looking for a QB. I give up. I guess if I wanted to believe something hard enough I'd just lie to myself until I believe it. I look at it like this.

    I have an apple.

    It looks like an apple.

    It tastes like an apple.

    It feels like an apple.

But no, I see it a banana.

Even though all signs point to it as an apple.

Even though I'm ignoring all signs of reason, it's a banana.

    Agree 100%.

'Orton is our starter' as we don't want to hurt his trade value - I suspect he gets traded, hopefully for something as savory as a 3d and a 5th/6th.

By convincing everyone we are in the QB market I am sure we have a lotta teams sweating our picking one and therefore looking to trade up.

I would not be surprised if we trade away the #2 and get a sweet deal for a lower 1st plus one or two more picks.

Personally I see this a draft stratego being played very well.

I like it we ave a HOF QB GM that is looking at qbs denver would be not very smart if they didnt look at them. Denver may not be drafting his high again so wy not check to see if there is a Franchise signal calle.

I would be upset if they took a QB however if the team feels thatit gives us the best chance to win ill support it. I have always supported the team n its decisions even though they have be wrong at times ill still root for whomever they take.

I am not a cam newton fan having said all that. And i would consider giving unwavering support if they do take him

And that doesn't help us at all. I see your point. And it makes sense to a certain extent, I just don't believe it personally. I think we'll end up trading back into the bottom of the first to pick one of those QB's. We'll see.
That's a good point, I forgot that teams like the Bills and Bengals have great picks in the 2nd as well providing they don't trade those picks. I agree we'll just have to wait and see, at least you can say the draft is never predictable

The Bills, Bengals, Cardinals, Vikings, and Dolphins are just a few teams that are looking at QBs right now. I think by us setting up workouts with these QBs, it shows other teams that we're showing "interest", and we're going to force somebody to jump up and give us more picks. Even if a team like the Vikings wants a guy like Ponder or Mallett in the 2nd, they could see that we've scheduled meetings, so they think we're interested in these potential 2nd round guys, so they're forced to jump up if they want their guy. Just my opinion on the whole situation
