  • 2011 Quarterback Draft Class: Which one would you want: POLL

There are many threads about Tebow and Orton and John Fox said this and John Elway said that. Most people love Tebow including myself however for this poll I would just like every to put there love for Tebow or Orton or even Brady Quinn aside and just imagine that the broncos are 100% going to take a Quarterback. I personally dont think they will but just imagine it is decided they want to draft the future QB of the team. Who is it.

Nominate which one quarterback from the draft you would want the Broncos to select to be the future QB of the team.

PS: I was just interested to see who most fans like at the QB position in this draft.

I would nominate Ryan Mallet personally

Ryan Mallett. If, as a team, you conduct enough interviews and researches that dismiss the content of all those negative reports.

The #1 QB in this class is Ryan Mallett. That's right. At least in terms of being a pocket QB throwing the ball, he is my #1. Executed pro-style concepts in college. His slow 40-yard dash is another positive in my opinion, because his lack of speed will force him to study the game like a pure passer, pocket QB.

People wrote a lot of crap about him, and nothing has been confirmed. The drug abuse? No failed tests, no official reports. Just rumors. I also read he would have a very low Wonderlic score, maybe not even with double digits. LOL. Then he scores 26, which is okay.

I agree it was all rumours about Mallets problems. I wouldnt care to mcuh about it. Anyway how often will a QB have to run 40 yards anyway. I think he has better mobility than kyle orton personally.

I want them in this order.

          Jake Locker
          Ryan Mallett
          Blaine Gabbert
          Christian Ponder

          I would probably have Gabbert 2nd, but I don't want a QB 2nd overall.

I'll be fine with any of the 4. I just absolutely don't want Newton or Kaepernick, especially Kaepernick.

I'd take Christian Ponder over any QB in this draft. He spent the most time in a pro-style offense, and is used to playing under center, unlike most of those QBs like Gabbert or Newton who played mostly in a spread offense. His accuracy is great, and while he doesn't have the strongest arm, it's strong enough to be a successful NFL QB. If there's one I absolutely don't want, it's easily Jake Locker. He's great at running the ball, but not that good when passing it. I'd still probably take him over Cam Newton though.

I voted for Mallet. I'm not big on any of these QBs, but Mallet has the best arm by far. The QB doesn't have to be mobile to succeed in Fox's offense (see Jake Delhomme), so I'd take my chances on the guy with the most "arm talent".

Jake Locker. I love the kid's potential and before his senior season, he had talk of being the 1st overall pick. IMO, he's FAR better than what his numbers showed. He had terrible talent around him last season, and I would be shocked if any of his WR's or offensive lineman were drafted in the 6th round or higher. The dude wins games, he has a strong arm, and I believe there are some places that would be a good fit for him. And Denver is one of them. (I think Minnesota would also be a good place for him to learn and start off with)

I won't even mention Newton or Gabbert at 2. I hope our front office isn't that stupid.

Mallet's character reminds me of Ryan Leaf. No thanks to that.

Idk much about Ponder or Kaepernick to be honest.

                  Locker or Mallett.

Ponder will only be good in certain offenses, the rest project to be not much more than busts or backups.

How do you figure that Ponder will only be good in certain offenses, and not Locker? I think Ponder will have a much easier transition to the NFL than Locker.

                      What.

Ponder is from a pro style ststem in college and will be one of the most ready quarterbacks when he enters the NFL.

I wouldnt mind him as a project behind tebow but the thread i meant like if you had a choice to immediatly come in and be the starter and face of the franchise. But i like mcelroy as a project
