....We all need a draft I think... At least this aint a Tebow vs Orton thread (there I said it)



At the end of the season I was all about Daerus with our pick he look like the best overall dt in this year crop, then came the national championship (I dont watch all NCCA games unfortunately) and saw Fairley and was curious about the 'monster in the middle' Auburn had. In the mean time Perterson arrived as a top prospect.

Let me say that I really like the prospect of Peterson and his mesurables and possible impact in ST, but! after letting the dust settle , I came to conclusion when taking the time to compare our d-line vs ou cb position that we really need DT's.

We have, goodman,champ, cox (what ever happens), syd, hill, dawkins, Mcbath, bruton

Ok, most of then top tier db's but all servicable I am sure.

Then let's look at out DT position

Who do we have as a sure thing?
Vickerson...
Why? he's about the only DT worth mentionning here....

Then there's a saying that goes around in the NFL ans pretty everyone knows it, defense wins championship and I am no Football expert but I know enough to say a good defense (and offense) start in the trenches.


So there you have it,
I would like to have the luxury to pick Peterson and watch him blossom with Champ but the reality is different. We need a dominating d-line. We could draft 2 linemen and a lb this years and I still would not be sure our defense would be out of the wood personnel wise (always a bust risk associated with players). Plus I think we should at least consider a Tackle this year.


Anyways, with our 2nd pick I will be happy if we either:

-draft one of the top 2 DL (Daerus on top of Failey)
-draft peterson
-trade back into the draft and accumulating a valuable pick (2) plus drafting in the top 10 a player that comes in and plays from the start

How is calling someone else's opinion terrible/bad respectable? Saying my opinion is wrong is completely disrespectful and biased the guy might have a great knowledge of football sure that might be, but he hasn't shown me anything that is a respectable football brain. We are both bronco fans and want to see our team win that's what counts and we have different opinions on how winning works. Mine or his aren't wrong or right and I have not called him WRONG once.
