  • What do you think of.....

Drafting Patrick Peterson with the 2nd overall pick.
Then taking Kyle Orton and a 3rd rd pick and trading them to Washington for DT Albert Hansworth. I know it's risky for Denver to make this trade because of all of the issues that he has had with Washington but the guy immediately upgrades the D line and is proven in a 4-3. Plus we have 2 play making Corners then using the rest of the draft to grab youth on the line. I think if that is opportunity arose that we should pull the trigger without thinking twice.

Terrible idea and wouldnt happen. Im sure Shanny would move Haynsworth for a 4th rounder sand considering we could at the worst IMO get a 3rd for Kyle orton it would be a terrible trade. Plus PP isnt what we need.

I would trade Our #2 to Washington in exchange for their #10, #41, TE-Fred Davis and DT-Albert Haynsworth.

How is that a terrible idea we would fill so many holes around the D that way. I mean of course the thing picks or players traded or draft picks would depend but all in all I think its a great idea..

Shanny & Kyle Orton? No way that would happen.

This is the same guy who moved up to draft Cutler because he didn't think Plummer - who led the team to an AFC Championship that year - was good enough to get to the next level. This is the same guy who benched Mcnabb for Rex Grossman. Shanny is very demanding of his quarterbacks, and I don't see Shanny trading for a mediocre QB in Kyle Orton.

He is more likely to draft a QB in the first round, than he is to trade anything for Kyle Orton.

The problem is Shanny doesn't have a draft pick that I can see him getting one of the 2 gabbert or newton so Kyle could be something that is a FAR cry better short term Qb than Rex Grossman. And it doesn't Have to be Kyle Orton who is traded we could trade a 4th or a 3rd

Well players can't get traded. And if/when Big Al gets traded it'll be for less then a 3rd, you have to kep in mind. Shanahan has no intention of keeping him, and other teams know that. If/when he gets moved it won't be for a premium draft pick. A 5th is probably pushing it.

As for Orton. Shanny went with the veteran guy last year, and if flopped. This year it looks like Rex will be the game 1 starter. So I doubt he wants the 2007 Bears QB corps there in Washington. The Redskins will draft a young guy to develop.

I'm in favor of taking Peterson. Because I'm in favor of taking the best player in the draft. You can't miss when you pick this high. Quality DT's will be there in the 2nd. Get them there.

The second part I bolded explains why it is a terrible idea.

??? you're not making any points as to why we should not got after a guy like hansworth he plays better in a 4-3 and the DL depth in this class is deep as it ever has been. we could simply give up a 5th for him and instantly have a impact player at that position and still be able to go back and grab another solid player in the 2nd round. to help bolster the line. and now we have a top 3 corner tandem in the league. and its a passing league these days. I think this trade would fill holes in the line and doom and big al would dominate.

                    If we had a 4th.

Now this would be a very good trade! Not a big fan of Haynesworth, but if the Redskins could eat up some of his salary, I'll do it.

The point wasn't about what we would trade for him it was that we would trade for him and take a quality DT in the 2nd round and have TWO playmakers at corner
