Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

NFL Network’s Mike Mayock held a live chat on NFL.com Friday afternoon, and the draft community’s top prognosticator pinpointed the main concern about Pittsburgh receiver Jonathan Baldwin that may result in a slide down the board in late April.Calling Baldwin “one of the bigger questions in this year’s draft,” Mayock explained that Baldwin has a [more]
And if you think that we shouldn't use the extra 2nd on defense because we will be covered that is flawed. We have so many holes on defense that we will need to draft defense for multiple years before we are fine.
32nd ranked defense, need starters and need depth.

I do know what I'm talking about. I watch a lot of big east games baldwin is a monster, he IS a top 20 talent. U probably haven't even seen him play
Where did I say he didn't have talent?
PLEASE.
Point it out for me.
He has very impressive physical stats but...
He is a poor route runner and has pretty poor hands. He relies on his athleticism, and is fairly poor technically.
He compares pretty well with Braylon Edwards with serious character concerns.
I feel u guys on the diva stuff to an extent but its not serious stuff imo. And braylon edwards? Please. He's a vincent jackson/faster brandon marshall type I'd even say he's more megatron than edwards. He had a pulled hamstring at the combine but he's a 6'4+ 230lb 4.37 guy. Not the "body catcher" fools label him. He is a beast with "good" hands. Not the BEST route runner but can find soft spots in coverage. If not for character concerns hed go top 20-25. Touch30 I thought u were saying he wasn't good by saying I have no clue what I'm talkin about my bad I guess u were referring to me sayin he's not a dive. Sayin a qb sucks that SUCKS, sayin coaches were hurting ur draft stock(dumb comment) and touchin a girls butt doesn't really bother me. Neither does fairleys juco nonsense or cams dad or floyds dui or jimmys weed
Calling your teammates out for whatever reason is a serious concern. Saying your coach is trying to hurt your draft stock by not throwing to you is another serious concern. That is pretty classic DIVA behavior right there.
If he was a "6'4 230+ 4.37 guy" he would not be going in 20-25, he would be going in the top 10 easy. He doesn't have top end speed, nor does he have the ridiculous burst that other receivers have. He's a big body with good jumping abilities, but that being said you can see from his tape time and time again that he catches with his body not his hands. Even at the combine he had trouble catching, and even at his PRO DAY, running scripted routes he trapped way too many balls with his body.
He's a gifted athlete. So was Edwards. Both have serious problems with catching the ball, and both aren't great route runners.
He did well at his pro day he caught MOST balls with his hands and I've SEEN him jump up with his 42" vert and catch the ball at its highest point with his HANDS MANY TIMES. He is a 6'4+ 4.37 guy its a fact. And if he didn't have a pulled hamstring he wouldve ran that at the combine. Usain bolt is 6'5 210 with a 3.95 40 should he go top 10 too lol. He doesn't have that burst off the line he's an accelerator type runner he gets faster as he goes. He's a top 20 talent imo

1. You shouldn't catch most of your balls at a Pro Day, you should catch them all especially when they are all scripted routes. And like I said, many of the balls he caught with his body which is simply not good.
2. You can't say he is a 6'4 4.37 guy as a fact. He ran a 4.49 at the combine.
3. Then why didn't he run at his Pro Day? If his hamstring was all better, why didn't he run that again, because it obviously isn't ideal..
4. Any football player with that sort of build that runs that fast with even mediocre-average hands would go very high, especially with that vertical. Usain Bolt would break like a twig in the NFL.
He is a 20-30 talent based off his potential, he still has serious concerns when it comes to playing football (route running/catching) and then when you add in the several character concerns...
From calling a teammate out...to calling a coach out...to getting in some trouble with the law...that isn't even considering how many would characterize him as uninterested during games..
Then when you consider that of every position on our team the receiver position is probably our strongest position, and that in Fox's offense we really do not have need for too many receivers, so our need for a receiver isn't very great at all. And then you also consider that we have several holes to fill on defense and even other offensive positions...
Why are people so convinced that Lloyd is going to put up big numbers next season? He only got those numbers this year because we force fed him, he was essentially Brandon Marshall except not quite as good. Lloyd caught around 50% of his passes last year, that's not good at all.

Because we have two QBs on our roster who have built a strong chemisty with him. He runs great routes. He makes the impossible catches. The offense will stay pretty similar. And to top it off, he hasnt earned a big contract. Next would be his contract year, so he may even post better numbers to get a big contract. And, he is incredibly unselfish and has shown he is a pretty loyal guy, if you return the favor.

I'm starting to think the anti diva concept is going to hamper us from having real talent. A lot of times the ones with an attitude have it because they are that good and they know it. It seems to me the good players with no attitude have a lower ceiling, mostly. We passed up Bryant for DT and we can see where that has gotten us so far. Not to mention the players that have been released.
Not to comment on the players in this thread, just that players that are really good, really know it.
This isn't the first time I have brought this up and I have a feeling it won't be the last.
I hate the Defenseless Receiver rule and the fines. Posted since '07. 2011 rule addition :nono: backhand a fool!

I'm not he should be traded as soon as the CBA is done.

What are u talking about? He DID catch ALL the balls at his pro day and he didn't run again because his hamstring wasn't any better. He's been timed at 4.37 and he said if his hamstring wasn't pulled he knows he wouldve ran in the 4.3s. Sleep on baldwin all u want I'd bet my life hell be a probowler even with all the ridiculous recievers already in the league. He's my favorite reciever in this draft for a reason. He is NICE! And bolt wouldn't break like a twig he's 210 all muscle he wouldn't be a 1st rounder but hed still be good. Btw have u ever heard of walter dix? He ran a 3.75 40! That's insane right
