While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.

Ayers can actually play all 3 LB spots and can play some with his hand on the ground.
Hate the Texans pick. Quinn still on the board too.
Shiloh couldn't cover a statue and it seems Fox wants converted CB to be his safeties, he doesnt use "in-the-box" safeties in other words.

Whats wrong with PA going to Houston? They got torched all season last year in the passing game. PA is a great cover corner and potential shut down guy. I know they are going to a 3-4 look, but why not take a would be top 8 talent at #11 in PA. They could get a decent 34 DE in the 2nd while still getting the 2nd best CB and arguably just up there with PP.
I dont know to many later round safeties or converted CBs. I just know Keo is on the "experts" minds as being a decent SS.

This is the best mock I've seen with a trade up in it. Akeem Ayers behind Robert Ayers makes for a heavy strong-side... he's also fairly versatile, and I think he'd do well in a mix of Fox's Cover-2/46 and Allen's 3-3-5.
The first 4 picks I absolutely love, but I wouldn't expect us to draft safeties in the later rounds... I expect Marcus Gilchrist to be on our big-board... he's a corner with the instincts and natural ability of a safety, which is right up Fox's alley.
I also much prefer Ayers instead of Miller in our defense... I just wish he was slightly faster... he's good enough to keep up with most TEs, but I'm not sure how well he can keep up with Miller/Gates.
All-in-all, very good mock. I'd be quite happy if this actually happened.
EDIT: on your 1st round mock. Comments on 3 teams I follow/like...
SF: Absolutely love it, but I really doubt PP falls to them at 7. I seriously would love it if he did, though.
Detroit: Hate hate hate the pick. And the problem is, if Tyron Smith is off the board, I fully expect it to be Bowers... urgjoe
New England: They're not picking JJ Watt. You can put that in the bank.
DOUBLE EDIT: I've read the thread, and I'm glad you came around on not putting Woody at SAM... that'd kill us. He's way too small for that.
TRIPLE EDIT: I Was digging around for some reports about Ayers (I haven't really watched UCLA play, nor have I invested time in him...) And I came across this : Compares to: D.J. Williams, Broncos - With excellent size and athleticism, Ayers could excel outside or inside in a 3-4 or 4-3 scheme if he proves to have adequate instincts at the next level. - Rob Rang

Thanks for the input. Now for my comments.
1. What is wrong with Bowers to Detroit? Van Den Bosch is going to be 33 and they could use a younger guy. Bowers was once considered a top pick. He is falling due to injury. If he sits for half a season to get healed he can play in rotation with Van Den Bosch.
2. Why wont NE take Watt? Alot of mocks have them grabbing him.
3. I wouldnt mind taking Gilchrist instead of Keo. I dont know much about him, but Mayock is high on him. I do not know the later round safties or converted CBs.
4. I am very happy that most people like my mock so far. I put alot of time into it, especially the trades. I tried to think of the most realistic partners and values.
Jackson wasnt exactly stellar last season. I know its alot of money tied up into one position, but Amukamara is projected to be WAY better than Jackson.
You still have Williams who Im sure will play edge rushing LB.

Thanks and I was unaware of this stigma placed on his agent. I never really pay attention to agents.

Texans have a lack of LB's. That is what killed them last year ton of injuries and no depth and no pass rush. DL depth is good and CB depth is decent, problem last year was horrible coaching not putting players in best possible position. Texans also have no, zero, zilch, nada Safeties, they will definitely need to grab one, and I feel they will grab a CB/S hybrid with 2nd pick.

Where would Dowling go in the draft? The more I think about it, the more I want him so I can convert him to FS. He just jumps out to me a a perfect conversion guy.
So where could we take him so i can adjust my mock a little?
