I'm thinking that unless there's an absolute steal sitting at our first pick in round two, like Luiget or Paea or Ayers, then we trade the pick to one of the quarterback hungry teams that missed out on a round 1 prospect.

There might be a mad dash for players like Ponder, Malett, Dalton, and maybe even Locker at the top of round 2.

If this happens, and I could definitely see this possibility, we could stockpile a few picks to move down and take a LB and/or a S and/or an OT.

That's assuming, of course, that WE don't target a QB at the top of round 2.

Unless there's a player the front office feels we absolutely have to have, we should consider trading if available, including 2A.

If we trade out of our #2 I'd trade both 2b and 2c a high 2 is worth a high 3,4,5,and 6. Most of my mocks have us doing that but if austin,paea,liuget,ayers,or wilson is there at 36 I'd only trade the other 2 2nds

If AZ trades the #5 pick and their second rounder for our #2 pick, then we either have a chance at drafting Dareus or Miller, or we trade back again with a team that covets Peterson.

We either get Dareus/Miller and 3 second round picks, or we draft Wilkerson/Luiget/Ayers/Watt/Jordan in the first round and have 4 second round picks.

And if we trade pick 2a for a lower second and a third, that gives us a total of 1 pick in the first round, 4 picks in the second round, and two picks in the third round to grab a DE, 2 DTs, 1 S, 2 LBs, and an OT.

Our draft could look like this:

Not a fan of trading in the second round unless its a offer you cant refuse. Id rather stay put and take bpa on defense, why not stay put and take borderline first round talent instead of trafing back for a bum ..needle in a haystack.

This draft doesn't have a bunch of "can't miss" top level talent in it but it does have a lot of quality "good" players. If Denver could trade down from #36 to say #50 and pick up an extra pick or two, they could get two or three good players instead of one.
I really don't think Denver is low on talent, I think if everybody can get and stay healthy, adding a few quality players can make a world of difference. BUT I think they should do it through the draft and not so much FA. If another team lets them go, there is probably a reason why!

Nah this team needs a base of solid players to build on with this draft, then get an impact mike next year when the pickin is good.

The rookie scale has already been agreed upon in principal by both sides and WILL be in the new cba and every team already knows this which makes the possibility of trading down skyrocket. There does not have to be a cba in place by draft day because players won't be signed until there is a new cba and like I said they already know the rookie scale will be in it

I'd think quite the opposite. A rookie pay scale would make a team want to pick as early as possible and or stay put and get the BPA possible, while no longer paying so much or taking such a large financial risk.

It is a good pick - we'd better get better than equal points to trade it.
