I don't remember ever seeing Ingram have his Knee displaced and mangled like McGahee when he was down in Miami, and as we all know that was a significant knee injury ... and McGahee is still playing at a pretty decent level if you ask me.
So Ingram in the 2nd ... heck yeahsigpic

I think what I'd prefer is to have a guy who you can really rely upon as your backup. Someone who really doesn't show a knack for getting injured and does have upside. Obviously, Ingram has that upside with his agility and decisive running style, but to have two guys with leg problems - Moreno with his hamstring issues, and Ingram with a troublesome knee - might be playing with fire a little bit too much.
I think there are plenty of options out there, and maybe even Mikel Leshoure makes more sense as he is durable, and I am a little bit more convinced of his breakaway speed. I've had the opportunity to watch him play plenty, and I think his game really translates well to the NFL. The possibility still exists that he might be available after #36, so possible a move up from our mid-2nd might be of value to grab him. I simply like his upside, and also the fact that I think what you get from Leshoure is a more reliable backup, which in my opinion should be of the most value when you have a guy like Moreno who hasn't exactly proven he can stay healthy.
It's also reasons like this why I shy away from wanting DeMarco Murray as a potential backup. Great ability/talent and really fits what we need, but even in a backup role, I'm not convinced that we can really rely on him, and he would undoubtedly be called upon at least once to spell Moreno for a game, and I'm not sure he could shoulder the load.
Other guys who I consider to fit the mold of what we need:
Shane Vereen
- Good running style that boasts good vision and patience. He's got good agility, and also better burst than long speed. I think he's going to be a guy that a lot of people are surprised by when he gets to the NFL. At the very worst you got a hard-running, short-yardage back that won't bust many for long gains, but he does have the ability to do so.
Jordan Todman
- Screams CoP back to me. He isn't the most physical guy, but his speed, elusiveness, and vision might hint to some solid success in the NFL. He's still developing as a pass-protector, and he isn't the most physical guy, so getting good value for him is going to be key, and could also be the deal-sealer.
Kendall Hunter (My personal favorite)
- Despite missing 6 games in 2009 with an ankle injury, he proved to be durable in 2008 and 2010 (amassing over 500 carries). There's some tread on the tires, but I love the way he runs behind his pads and also manages to be elusive.
Derrick Locke
- He's had some injuries, but I don't really envision him as a backup, but more of that only 3rd down and passing situation back. He's amazingly fast on the field, he can provide depth in the return game, and his speed split out against defenders would be incredibly hard to account for. I compare him to Darren Sproles for his game-changing ability in the passing game. I think he's a better fit for an offense similar to McDaniels' and maybe not so much John Fox's, but we shall see.sigpic

Although I would love Ingram on the Broncos, I think we need a receiving back to compliment Moreno..... I think FA is the route to address this need. Although Sproles and Hightower(prefer) are looking for larger roles on other teams, I think these two are perfect fits for us. I just dont think either reallys wants to come in as #2. But with Morenos history of missing games maybe a good RB will see this as an opportunity.

Originally posted by themadfanaticI'd take todman over any of them he's WAY more physical than ppl realize. He has an unbelievably strong upper and lower body and runs with GREAT leverage and fights for yards. The ONLY thing I think he could improve on is his patience but he is still very underrated between the tackles and should NOT be labeled just a change of pace back. He is an everydown, carry the load back who happens to be 2 inches shorter than what ppl like with breakaway speed
However, in a system like John Fox with is more of a PBS, guys like Todman will be required to run between the tackles, and a lot of his success at UConn came from breaking to the outside.
It's why guys like DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart, Stephen Davis have seen tons of success in Fox's system; they know how to run physically and between the tackles. And when guys like DeShaun Foster rushed in that system without a very physical running style, he never amassed over 900 yards despite seeing over 200 carries in each of those 3 seasons.sigpic

Possible the Bronco's FO would take him to compliment Moreno if he drops to 36 due to the knee?

Of course, the golden rule is that you should be very suspicious of anything that is reported right now. Lots of misinformation out there as teams play games with each other.

He gets 30+ gains like every game. He ran 4.40 at the combine after gaining 15lbs please don't comment on players u CLEARY know NOTHING about
He played in the big east.
He tries to run people over, and he wont be nearly as effective in the nfl.Denver Broncos GM
