He will be a steal in my opinion.
I like him too, obviously he has some extremely impressive stats. His stock is slipping, it would be great if we could grab him with one of our 6th's.

If we want to give McBath a shot at FS then I'd be good not drafting a S early this year. Renaldo Hill, while not spectacular, is good enough to play for another season or so. I think we should focus on our front 7 in the first 3 rounds of this year's draft. Maybe if Bruton plays well early he'll get some reps with the starters too. Wouldn't it be great if both McBath and Bruton turned out to be solid players in the NFL? (Not too sure it's going to happen though)

There's an element of truth to that. People shouldn't be judging him based on one play in the open field where he was caught flat footed in front of a guy running full speed.

Big time players make big time plays in big time games and bruton whiffed. He had has dare to be great moment and choked
A healthy Kenneth Dixon is a top 5 NFL RB.

HE GOT JUKED BY A FULLBACK!!! I could've made that play that's open field tackling 101 watch his numbers not his legs

I'm a huge fan of McBath, when healthy, he's a ballhawk and playmaker in the field. I hope this is the year he pans out, so much potential, hate watching injuries hurt players career.

Would absolutely love a safety duo of McBath and Carter.

If I had to say what Bruton lacks, and he lacks something, I'd say instinct which is top priority for a S IMO. Tackling is a question, though I have seen him lay wood, I have seen him whiff and miss tackles.
I hate the Defenseless Receiver rule and the fines. Posted since '07. 2011 rule addition :nono: backhand a fool!

Crash are you serious. It was one play. Anyone could have juked any safety in that position. Open field and a runner with a full head of steam. All he had to do was change direction.

My dream scenario would be byron maxwell starting FS and bruton at SS with a front 4 of ray edwards/dumervil,Haynesworth,fairley,ayers and a lb group of dj,martez, and durant or anderson
And champ and cox or walls at corner

Safeties generally need to have some speed to them to be good though. Unless they're thunderous hitters, you're not going to find many really good safeties that don't have that next level of athleticism.

That's just dumb. It was one play. Every single defender has stuff like that happen to them.

                            Jeron Johnson is both.

He was the fastest safety at the combine, and there's a good reason he was called the "Hitman" at Boise State. :thumb:

Whoever gets Jeron Johnson is going to get an excellent football player.

I'm a strong believer that insticts develop with playing time. The more u play the more it slows down to you and the more u begin to see things happening to the point u anticipate what's going to happen in situations and react "instinctively" but I agree at this moment that is what he lacks. He can definately tackle

He does lack nfl speed for a safety BUT he IS a thunderous hitter
