You guys can make all the excuses you want to make yourselves feel better about bruton. Ive seen him play in 4-5 games and he's done nothing to help the defense no picks, no sacks, no fumbles, not one single play to make me think he could be a big time player. All I keep hearing is his intangibles his weight and speed nothing else. Atleast mcbath HAS made plays, yes it was one but it was a full on pick of peyton manning, he read the play and read peytons eyes and made the play.

Well you keep trying to convince yourself that that one play makes him a bad player for the rest of his career. You realize we all are on the rational smart side of the argument dont you.

I'm with crash on this one. Don't want to see Bruton start. I'm fine with him popping in and out every now and then and having him use these times on the field to prove he's worth the roster spot, but as it stands, I don't want much to do with him... he's done absolutely nothing with the time he's had on the field.

Maybe drafting a safety is a bit extreme. Hill probably has another facemask left in him

Bruton made a TON of plays at ND. Including 97 tackles,10 pass breakups, 4 picks,2 forced fumbles,2 fumble recoverys his senior year. His 2nd start as a bronco he had 5 solo tackles, a pass breakup, and he also blocked a punt against st louis to give us a chance to win. Bruton IS a playmaker when he gets a year to start u and every other doubter that didn't watch him at ND will realize this

I would love for him to prove me wrong, but believe me, I'm not holding my breath.

He's had two years to develop, he started five games!! There's nothing that's says he should start. GIVE ME ONE FACT THAT SAYS HE SHOULD START BESIDES WEIGHT AND SPEED!!!!

making five tackles is not no playmaker. Jumping the line of scrimmage on the one and sacking the QB that's a playmaker, strip sack with the game on the line that's a playmaker, diving fingertip INT. That's a playmaker, BRUTON ISN'T EVEN CLOSE!!! five tackles please

And for the record he had two fumble recoveries in 2010 and a forced fumble in 09 and I don't think u realize how good he was at ND his 2 years he started he had 7ints and 182 tackles. His 97 in his senior year was the 3rd highest for a db in ND history

So recovering 2 fumbles and forcing another and blocking a punt with the game on the line isn't making a play??? Exactly ur a hater and u won't give him any credit. His college career is what should make him start. The fact we have aging safetys who should no longer start ahead of him, the fact that he HAS made plays when he played, the fact that he might be the best all around athlete in the nfl are all reasons he should start. His hard hitting, his ball skills, what more do u need?

No I'm not, I love David bruton I hope he can be a great great safety he just hasn't shown anything. Oh madfanatic college stats are worth dirt here's why how many touchdowns did Ryan leaf throw? College stats mean nothing in the pros, what they did in college should impress no one cause anyone can choke. I really do want bruton to be a starting safety I just don't see much skill there, I see a big that can run really fast in a straight line

College stats mean nothing? How ppl play in college is what determines whether and when they get drafted. We drafted him because of what we saw in him IN COLLEGE. He's only 2 years removed from the draft. We won't just forget what we saw in college(a playmaker) and the combine and give up on a guy after 2 years who has ALSO made plays in the nfl. If we didn't care about college ayers wouldn't still be starting. Fox has been quoted saying he likes what he saw from ayers IN COLLEGE and he's interested in seeing what he can do returning to the position he played IN COLLEGE. To say how u play in college means nothing two weeks from a draft makes u sound really stupid

College stats determine where you are drafted.

                                The draft is a crapshoot.

                                Simple transitive property. HAHAH!

btw, what # pick was Bruton... even with his stats and measurables?
