  • Virgil Green

Excellent pick. An absolute steal. Was projected a 3-4 round prospect. Will probably have more of an impact his first year than Julius Thomas.

    • When there are so many people doing draft rankings, pretty much every player is going to be "projected top 3-4" by SOMEBODY.

      • They are singing his praises on ESPN, man i was so happy to see his name up there! WOOOO!

Looks like FOX and ELWAY want passing TE's

I dont remember FOX wanting and using passing TE's

Kid def has big play ability, and the measurables.

        • Good late pick will be a HBack/SP teams type of player...

"Green's an undersized, athletic, pass-catching tight end / H-back with big-play potential who doesn't bring much to the table as a blocker. Has good burst off the line and doesn't idle down in and out of his breaks but is susceptible to press coverage and doesn't exhibit great awareness against zone coverage. Possesses outstanding ball skills. Did not make a load of explosive plays in college but has a high ceiling here due to his speed and hands. Shows good effort as a blocker and could improve technique but lacks natural size and strength to excel in this area. Green could sneak into Day 2".

          • We're gonna have our own duo of dangerous receiving tight ends with Thomas and Green! Great pick! Great draft!

Apparently some concerns over the health of his knee. He had a very high draft grade prior to that. (3-4th round)

                • Yea.....and he fell so badly because he has already had microfracture surgery and experienced some swelling at the combine......can't say it was a "risky" pick because it was a 7th, but this kid is supposed to be pretty good if he can put his injury behind him and not have health problems....

                  • Strong hands, decent speed, and good size. Solid depth again. This is easily the best broncos draft in 10 years.

                    • Broncos selected Nevada TE Virgil Green with the No. 204 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft.

NFL Network's Mike Mayock hears that Green was taken off the draft board of several teams for medical red flags. He underwent microfracture surgery a couple of years and experienced swelling at the Combine. That didn't stop him from blowing up the Combine, however, topping several of Vernon Davis' marks in drills. Even at a rocked-up 6'3/249, Green is still on the smallish side for a tight end and grades out as a subpar blocker. He'll battle fifth-rounder Julius Thomas for playing time in Denver. As long as his knee checks out, Green possesses intriguing upside in the NFL.

Perfect pick to roll the dice with.

                      • Bettered some Vernon Davis times at the combine, just hope his knee holds up. 7th rounder though, worth the risk for the talent.

                        • Wow. According to ESPN's scouts grade he's a 77... thats higher than Mohamed, Carter, Thomas, Irving, and only two behind Franklin. He had the best vertical and broad jump of all tight ends in this draft, and ran a 4.54 40 yard dash (pretty dang quick for a TE). Of his pass catching abilities ESPN says "Displays strong hands. Can catch in traffic and does a great job of tucking the ball away. Looks smooth plucking on the3 run and can consistently catch the ball thrown over his head. Shows excellent focus and body control."

If goin off this, he's a steal.

                          • Great value pick at this point, stays healthy we'll have a nice duo at TE with Green and Thomas.
