I have come up with an all UNFA team in which I put, in my opinion, the best players at each position that went undrafted on one team and bolded which ones I think the Broncos should pursue if the lockout ends. Feel free to criticize or make your own, im just interested in getting names out there so that we can be enlightened to an extent. If you have sleepers, put them, please.
QB: Patrick Devlin QB 6'3" 225 Delaware
Joshua Portis QB 6'3" 211 California (PA)
RB: Derrick Locke RB 5'8" 188 Kentucky
Derrick is an exciting and fast running back. Runs a 4.37 40 yard dash and during his UK career, Locke rushed for 2,618 yards and 22 touchdowns and caught 95 passes for 883 yards and three TDs. He also holds the school career record for kickoff return average at 27.1 yards per return, including a pair of 100-yard touchdowns.
Mario Fannin RB 5'10" 231 Auburn
Mario is a big back who also can fly. Runs a 4.37 40 and is the all time leader in receptions at Auburn for a RB with 96.
FB: Henry Hynoski FB 6'0" 257 Pittsburgh
A beast of a fullback and in my opinion should be one of the first players targeted by the Broncos. He is a true FB, which Fox will be looking for. If you havent heard of him already, check him out.
WR: Ricardo Lockette WR 6'2" 211 Fort Valley St.
Jeffrey Maehl WR 6'1" 190 Oregon
Dane Sanzenbacher WR 5'11" 182 Ohio
Terrence Toliver WR 6'4" 212 LSU
WR Summary: Fast, Quick, Productive, and Big respectively in this list. Each one of them is a little different and if we had to go after a WR, i would hope that we choose one of these 4. Lockette is a D-II prospect that can fly and Maehl and his production at Oregon cant be overlooked. Toliver had a down year because his QB is so crappy, but he will need to develop too.
TE: Weslye Saunders TE 6'5" 270 South Carolina
Schuylar Oordt TE 6'6" 261 Northern Iowa
TE Summary: Weslye is extremely talented but also very troubled and went undrafted because of this. Schuylar has been talked about a lot and his big body could be sought, but I like the 2 TE's we drafted. Both of these guys differ from Thomas and Green because they weigh 20-30 lbs more than Thomas and Green. I see these two TE's, Saunders and Oordt, as both blocking and catching TE's.
LT: Willie Smith OL 6'5" 310 East Carolina, 2010 All Conference USA
LG: Zachary Hurd OG 6'7" 316 Connecticut
Starter since 2008. Anchored the line that helped the Colts first round pick Dominic Brown lead the NCAA in rushing and helped Jordan Todman become the prolific RB he is. High Character on and off the field. Team Captain and All Big East selection in 2010, and nominee for Allstates all works team. I really want him in a Bronco uniform.
C: Kristofer O'Dowd OC 6'4" 304 USC, Started as a freshmen at USC, enough said. Also could bring depth at a position in which a second year player is entering.
RG:Ray Dominguez OG 6'4" 334 Arkansas, Part of O-line that produced a 3000 yard passer and a 1000 yard runner
RT: Trevis Turner OT 6'7" 342 Abilene Christian 2010 AP Little All American First Team, took the place of J'Marcus Webb on the team. Webb turned out to be a huge value pick for the Bears.
Offensive Line Summary: Anyone of these linemen I would like to bring in. Of course I like out current O-line and I see it as one of the strongest and youngest ones in the league, but these guys can provide great depth, they have good college experience and can spend time developing. If I had to list these linemen in order of want it would go Hurd, O'Dowd, Trevis Turner, Wilie Smith, Ray Dominguez
Offensive want by priority:
1. Henry Hynoski FB 6'0" 257 Pittsburgh
2. Derrick Locke RB 5'8" 188 Kentucky
3. Zachary Hurd OG 6'7" 316 Connecticut
4. Mario Fannin RB 5'10" 231 Auburn
