Quick where's MUG... I need an indepth scouting report on Jarmon IMMEDIATELY.

Honestly I find this to be a good trade. Gaffney was reportedly gonna get cut anyways. A 3 WR set is a rarity for Fox so this just helps get the ball to Royal and Decker, and I'm happy with that :thumb:

I'll give you what I have.

Jarmon was phenominal either his Freshman or Sophomore year. Maybe even both. To the point he was potentially a high first round selection when he was draft eligible. Than he tanked his Junior year and declared in the supplemental. He's all potential, but was most effective (by far) as a smaller DE, around 260-265ish. The weight gain was possibly part of his struggles.

He was completely out of place in Washington as a 34 DE. And he would be completely out of place in Denver as a DT. It's an intriguing signing, but all his potential and talent relies on him playing DE in the 43. If Elway thinks this guy is a DT, Elway is absolutely mistaken.

This trade was a salary dump on Gaffney while adding talented depth to DE. It's not a bad move, but Jarmon is a role player while he develops. He has long term potential though.

lol hilarious...he never was a 3-4 end he was drafted in 2009 by the redskins in the supplemental draft to play 3-4 end however that is not his game never has and never was he actually doenst fit the 3-4 he is a 4-3 guy and the trade is actually a good one....gaffney wont play much in 2 Wr sets with lloyd and royal being 1-2, and now we have a 6-3 286 lb DL player who can back-up LDE behind Ayers and can also maybe be a rotation guy inside on passing downs possibly and he has tons of upside, he was a good player for kentucky at DE.....this was a good trade and sensible for both sides plus we actually have a coach who knows defense unlike shanny.....

i really think this was a resonable cheap way to dump some cap space and get a DL player who can contribute, this i do believe regardless of what some think here.....

I think Elway just said DT, because he is a DE.

I like the move, and who knows, maybe they strike gold...

That would be nice for once.

Im starting to think that our new regime belives are run issues werent inside but outside on the edge, maybe thats the reason for the focus on guys like miller, Jarmon, moving haggan and ayers back to DE......

So hes gonna move inside in a 4-3
Actually, Jarmon came out of Kentucky as a defensive end. He played defensive end in his first year in Washington also.

But then Washington made the move to the 3-4 last season, and Jarmon was out of place because he's a 4-3 defensive lineman.

Good pickup. He's a versatile player than can play all 4 positions on a 4-3 defensive line.

He has all the talent you'd look for.

Let's see the defensive coaches get all that talent out of him.

Good to see use getting sooooo many vesatile players, scheme wise. This way when WHEN the 4-3 is deemed to be a sub par scheme to the 3-4 we can transition with out rebuilding.
I hate the Defenseless Receiver rule and the fines. Posted since '07. 2011 rule addition :nono: backhand a fool!

Gaffney isn't getting any younger. Trading him for a 23 year old rotational D Lineman isnt the end of the world

But still, with all the other big signings and all the other action going on today...this is our big move of the day?

NOOOO! Please don't say this is our big move of the day. We need Orton gone and for a quality DT. We need to sign Mebane. We need another RB because we don't have the most sophisticated running game in the NFL yet.

                          Im glad gaff is gone.

He was a reliable receiver and did well but i feel like so many other WR's on our team are justdlat out better and i hated seeing passes go to him when they could have been going to

                          Lloyd
                          Royal
DT(when healthy if he's the same)
                          Decker
                          Willis
                          Knowshon

                          All better receiving threats imo.

Stupid trade but the message is sent, running game, running game...and more running game. We need to get some big Free agents, the other teams are not playing!
