I think Franklin is a safer pick up.

Hes the last hope for the team right now but I doubt he will come cheap. I have a feeling if we sign him it will put the Stephen Bowen contract to shame (5 years 27.5 mill + 12.5 guaranteed to go to the Skins) We are asking a borderline 4 star FA to come to the 2nd worst team in football, I am sorry but I dont think he will demand anything less then 4 mill a year, no I dont think he is that consistent always which is why I am worried. However, it might be lower since his age is getting up there and this will most likely be where he retires and well not many teams are left that need a DT that badly.

Personally if we had the money I would have been happy with the 6 year 36 mill the skins gave coefield and the deal they gave Bowen even if they were high. Shanny got 2 of the best young talents available if not the 2 best. I dont think our team is willing to spend those big bucks and go over the cap like the good old days. So chances are we wont be seeing these big contract guys on the team

I wouldn't. I would give up like 1.5 Max Per Year. Otherwise see ya later. We do not want to hamstring our cap for years to come with a stop gap. Plus with a few guys off contract next year it would be a bad decision for the future.

True and Franklin is at a point where he is essentially going to be at his last stop. Chances are he wants to be on a contender and since it looks like he wont he may charge a lot and take a small contract so he can in the future.

We dont want to be like the Raiders and there obsession with completely overpaying there aging D-lineman.

If we give a 32 year old lineman a 5 year deal for 25mill, I hope the bulk is paid his 5th year LOL! I could easily see 1.5 guanteed with another 1mill in bonuses (16 games= 1/2mill, 40 tackels=1/4mill, 1/4mill for camp ) but I have a hard time thinking these guys are going to get $5mill a year here or anywhere, but I could be wrong, it has happened before LOL

If we give a 32 year old lineman a 5 year deal for 25mill, I hope the bulk is paid his 5th year LOL! I could easily see 1.5 guanteed with another 1mill in bonuses (16 games= 1/2mill, 40 tackels=1/4mill, 1/4mill for camp ) but I have a hard time thinking these guys are going to get $5mill a year here or anywhere, but I could be wrong, it has happened before LOL
