Monitor the Philadelphia Eagles Defensive Tackle Position

Mike Patterson
Cullen Jenkins
Derek Landri
Trevor Laws
Antonio Dixon
Anthony Hargrove

With Jim Washburn's constant defensive tackle rotation, the maximum they could keep is 5. That means one of probably Laws or Dixon will get cut, either one would probably start for our team and they're both high quality linemen, so what do you guys think? Which one would you rather have?

Antonio Dixon. For one he is larger but also is more of a run stuffer then a pass rusher which is what I think we should get more out of our DTs. Keep in mind the also have Cedric Thornton the undrafted rookie.

I really doubt they drop Dixon, him outplaying Bunkley is the reason they were willing to trade him. If they did, he'd be a superb NT signing.

Patterson and Jenkins should be the starters, with Dixon backing up Patterson and Laws backing up Jenkins. I think both Landri and Hargrove are gone. I suppose Laws could be surprise cut, but he's not a NT, and I'm not sure he's an upgrade on Thomas, Vickerson, or Jarmon's potential.

Phillip Hunt is the guy to watch, very quick. would add good depth to the pass rush, which i think we need. if Von or Doom go down for any length of time, we are screwed. IMO he would be a better option then Hunter/ Harvey.

As for their DT's i think Cedric Thornton has potential. Hargrove and Landri will probably be out like MUG said. I don't really like either of them over the guys we have.

The problem is having any new guy ready for Oak. Warren needs to go IR if he is going to miss the first 12 weeks. Thomas out hurts.

Warren should go on IR if he is out more then 8. He wouldn't be in playing shape or have any cohesion at all with the rest of the team. We would be better served taking a lower quality guy off waivers.

Maybe a guy like Anthony Gray could be claimed just to backup Bunkley? I read somewhere that he was playing decently enough to challenge for a roster spot. That's saying a lot on a defense as talented as pitts.

Where did you see that Thomas is out? I always heard he'd be ready for the opener.

I don't think they'll cut Landri. He's had a pair of sacks so far hasn't he? The Bengals have some good depth players on DT they may have to cut, I was watching them against the Panthers and was impressed.... But that may just be because the Panthers suck

well, i just wanted to say that the bengles have 6 dt 1 UDFA so they probably wont cut any one. if landri jumps some one on the depth chart that would be good, i am kinda surprised we didn't try to get landri

Eagles released DTs Derek Landri and Anthony Hargrove.

Landri is a bit of a surprise as he was Philly's third-best defensive tackle in preseason action. Both veterans are vested, which means the Eagles could opt to bring them back after the first week of the season.
